Maybe my memory is a little clouded on this, but wasn't Platnium founded specifically to burn bridges with Capcom? =V |

The purpose was to be independent with them, which they did, but there have been rumors of some kind of Capcom/Platinum cooperation. Very weak rumors though... |

Nonono, better idea; they both team up to kick Donte's ass as a special boss fight. |

Can we keep Es Donté? That man was a hero that made DmC bearable to play through. |

Actually, I'm fond of the idea of Bayonetta constantly talking down to other-Dante. If Luka wasn't already Cheshire, that's what Bayonetta would be calling him, or even better... XD "You're going to have to try harder than that to get a tip, little one?" (seriously, Donte looks fucking short) "Hey, I didn't fucking ask you to help, bitch!" "Now now, that's no way to talk to a lady. If we're going to help each other, you need to learn to talk to a lady." "I don't need to fucking learn anything!" "The key is to be quiet when your betters are talking." "Fuck off!" "Must we go over the lesson again, little one?" "Stop calling me 'little one!' I have a fucking name; it's Dante." "My my, quite a heavy name you've got there, little one." "I fucking told you my name is--" "You'll earn your name when you become a man." Edited by Arem, Feb 13 2015, 05:36 AM.

Capcom's doing Attack on Titan Arcade. Guessing it probably won't be localized, but it seemed worth noting. |

LastFight is an independently developed fighting game in the same vein as Power Stone, based on the Lastman comic book. Coming to all major platforms, but there are currently talks with Nintendo. Basically, these guys are giving us the Power Stone sequel we've all been begging for. |

So, I played the DmC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition, and I have to say I'm quite impressed with how much they fixed the game. I'm not sure if it being on the Xbox One and PS4 has anything to do with it, but they did a LOT more than just fixing frame rate, loading and technical issues. For the most part--basically only just one secret mission is unbearably difficult--they rearranged item hunting and simplified it so that we no longer need obnoxious platforming to get to necessary items. At least three times in the original release, you need to have insane combat stepping skills to reach these items. This time, it's rearranged so that items are easier to get to. Granted, you'll have to look in different places to get them, but generally, they're pretty close by. One instance, I managed to reach the area where one necessary item was...only to find it was an item I could buy in the shop. I managed to get all the items in just four days of playing the game. Another thing to note is that secret missions--originally locked behind doors requiring specific keys to access them--have been simplified. Keys are no longer ranked, making all secret doors more easily accessible. The Devil Trigger has been altered, charging up faster--although it spends faster apparently--and dealing damage in Devil Trigger also adds charge to the Devil Trigger. It's also been balanced so dealing damage on the ground is no longer nerfed. I've had to always perform combos in the air in Devil Trigger to end things faster. I could go on and on, but as I later learned, Capcom released a complete change list online, and it's 25 pages long. Doesn't look like they messed around. In the end, the game is much better this time around. Also, in b4 "it should have been this way before!" [shrug.] |

You know, it's funny you should mention that actually, because not only should the game have been better to start with - like Boom, first impressions are absolutely critical when you're intent on rebooting an entire canon like that - the fix in question is rebuying a whole new game disc, which I find is less a show of good faith and more conning customers out of things that could very well have been patched in largely for free. |

Wouldn't it have been an enormous patch? It's one thing to patch up technical issues that were rampant throughout the game--which at the most might be at least a gig--but complete level rearrangements? Over 50% of the collectibles were placed differently, parts of the geography were altered, or even removed. They even fixed a plot hole! Granted, it was just an additional scene, but an important one. I don't even want to think how big that kind of patch would be, especially since there is a size limit to patches/DLC for the Xbox 360. Remember Mass Effect 3: Citadel? They had to split that into two packs because it was too honking big. On a side note, I don't know why they have size limits on DLC and patches since we can download whole games much bigger than that. :/ If patch size was an issue, I wouldn't be surprised they opted for a re-release instead. Thankfully, it was 39.99 USD on release. Now, I'm not defending Capcom here; just trying to see the practicality of it all. |

Hasn't stopped them before. Reminder - you're talking about the same people who made a 13 gigabyte patch for Dead Rising 3. Edited by Blacklightning, Mar 14 2015, 11:18 AM.

Speak for your fucking self. Also the limits were in place because last gen consoles (especially the 360) had a bad habit of losing connections and having to start all over. Also also the changes Arem is talking about sound like they were at an game engine level, having that in a patch would have been a bitch. Should they have gotten it right the first time? Yes. Did they? Have you forgotten what company you're talking about? |
