There's been connectivity with Boktai since the third or fourth game, as I recall. Hell, even Star Force had connectivity with Boktai DS (Lunar Knights in the West), but NOPE. |

This argument assumes the people porting it are competent. People once said the same of Sonic 1 - then Sonic Team made a GBA port of it with all the finesse of a chinese ROM hack. |

From what I've read the GBA games on the Wii U shop aren't bad at all. In fact the save state feature is something that they didn't even need to put in but is pretty cool. The biggest problem aside from the lack of multiplayer that I've heard about is that if you play the game on a decently large HDTV that it can look a bit blurry on the edges. I'm not too happy with the treatment of Megaman by Capcom in recent times but this is stupid guys seriously. How can they botch/fuck up this when they've already ported GBA games like Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga to the Wii U shop already with no actual problems? The comparison of these ports to the Sonic 1 GBA port.... make it to a Virtual Console game to help your point because a game like Puzzle Fighter II Turbo had a shitty GBA port too (horrible colours, sprites didn't seem right, and even frame-rate drops) and that's not even a version people seem to acknowledge when talking about the game. Keep in mind that Sonic 1 was ported to the Virtual Console the same year it was ported to GBA (around the same time) so to anybody thinking it'll be screwed (waiting a year like the other titles mentioned isn't fucking it up, it's just wasting our time there's a difference).... please explain, I'd like to hear more.

Because the last time Capcom ported a game to the Virtual Console, it was three seperate versions of the same game that had to be purchased separately, and not a single one of them was even the definitive version. And the last time they ported a Megaman game they added microtransactions for stuff that were previously already accessible in the game through standard progress, completely changed all of the level layouts for no good reason, somehow failed to keep the entire level in a single load when even the fucking SNES did that shit seamlessly and just seemed like a universal downgrade from the original nearly a decade after the fact. Not to mention they ended up building Xover over it. Don't act like the precedent isn't there. If there's a way to fuck something up despite all indication to the contrary, Capcom will find it. It's like their own personal Godwin's Law. |

Oh you mean the 3 different versions of SFII? Just think of it for a moment though. This game (SFII) has multiple versions of the game on every console! The only reason Capcom does that is because SFII still sells to this day and while I don't agree with it at all... Did you seriously expect something different from Capcom with regards to SFII of all games? You definitely would've lost your mind back in the 90s with all the versions of SFII that came out lol. Also they added micro-transactions in a Megaman game released on VC in the past? Which one because I'm genuinely curious (I never heard this before so I'd like to know). Also I'm not acting like the precedent isn't there. You're saying that to the wrong person if you believe that cause as I've grown tired of Capcom's bullshit for years now. I'm just wondering because everybody is bitching and moaning for Megaman games on VC even, and once it comes most of these same people bitch anyway.

That's too bad though when it shouldn't be considered seeing as how the article isn't talking about iOS. The Virtual Console ports or eShop releases are handled in a different manner altogether. iOS ports for most games are bad in my opinion but that shouldn't cross my mind when thinking of a port coming to Wii U or 3DS. I'm aware of how Nintendo's eShop handles ports and while it does have a game in Japan with micro-transactions (not sure if it's come to the west yet), they don't raise any worries for me on ports of old games for the marketplace. |

Because Nintendo is the one handling them. And if Sega handling their own ports of Game Gear games on the 3DS is any indication, this won't always be the case. Far be it from me to imagine how badly one can fuck up a ROM in a box exactly, but it's happened before - undue slowdown, dodging fullscreen capabilities by putting one of those stupid borders around the game screen, throwing in an ugly 2XSAI filter that can't be disabled, stuff like that. Any one of them easily enough to fuck things up for people wanting to enjoy the game a second time. |
