You know your game is bad that when you hold a design contest someone wins with what may basically a frankensprite of geminiman and the wings from likely mmz's angel X. Sudachiwoman woman is cute I guess but more like a forced cute, where the Capcom artist had to do their best with the design. Good for an NPC, less so for a boss. Capcom doesn't even have the money left to make a fighting game on a next-gen system. Considering Capcom's primary cash cow is fighting games, especially as far as Street Fighter and MvC is concerned, that doesn't really bode well for them. Not like I care, Capcom fighters are shit anyways. |

Hasn't been a good Capcom fighter since TvC, and the worst part is, they barely acknowledge its existence. Either way, they're probably still raking in plenty of moolah from Monster Hunter sales, so they'll be floating around for quite a bit...until they inevitably goof THAT up. |

Capcom has tried milking their fighters for a long time in an attempt to get more money. A recent example would be Street Fighter IV and how we're going to get Ultra SFIV next year. While I'm a fan of Street Fighter, this is the wrong way to go about things and Capcom seems to not be learning. I recall them re-releasing some different versions of Street Fighter II for the Nintendo eShop at about $8 a piece.... Seriously Capcom? Normally I'd say they should just release one version of a game (SFIV, MvC3, etc) and release patches/DLC, however Capcom are not exactly the greatest company when it comes to DLC either (Street Fighter x Tekken shenanigans). They also seem to throw the same bullshit of how they will make another game for a series if there's enough demand but we all know how that actually is  . Fans of the Megaman, Darkstalkers, Capcom vs SNK, and many other Capcom developed game series definitely feel like they're not being heard (demand is there, but I guess Capcom expects more than they're realistically going to get for a while). Some steps they've taken show how much they want to maximize profits for minimal costs, which obviously doesn't yield the same results everytime in the market. Their marketing department is really not doing a good job in achieving the necessary results of most (recent) releases: a) Generating a lot of hype for their game(s) b) Please the fan community (they know what their fans are tired of and want by now, if not then they deserve to be where they are). c) Profit off the game enough to warrant another release (high amounts of sales and for expansions such as Ultra SFIV, a good percentage of people who bought the previous version(s), not something like 20% though). Anyway, we'll see how they do with the current titles they have coming out soon (Strider for example). I hope they shape up but something tells me they'll won't  (hope I'm wrong).

All I wanted from them was MML3 and a new Powerstone, they could milk us on sure-sellers, but they choose not to. I hope whoever makes the decisions there retires soon. |

Methinks another big problem Capcom is having (which ties into the whole "ignoring demand" dealio mentioned before) is that they're trying too hard to suck on the Western gaming teat. We saw signs of this early on with Dead Rising and Lost Planet (both decent Inafune games), back around the time when Western gaming was really taking off thanks to FPSs and RPGs like Skyrim. After Inafune jumped ship, though, they had no idea what the fuck they were doing, as shown by Dead Rising becoming an Xbone exclusive (because the Japanese love them some Xbox AMIRITE), Lost Planet 3 becoming a thinly veiled Dead Space clone, and the entirity of RE6. I dare say the only game from Capcom's attempts to get a slice of the Western pie that was anywhere near decent in recent years was Dragon's Dogma (and even then, it's pretty much just Skyrim with some Monster Hunter mixed in). I would say Capcom could turn its fortunes around if they went back to the games and franchises that made them popular to start with, but if they can't even make a next-gen fighter, it's more than likely too late. ...which reminds me, how cool would a Street Fighter game by CyberConnect2 be? |

It was a terrible game overall that was really lacking. The worst part was that they turned around and ended up re-releasing it with the expansion/DLC crap, so it basically got the Street Fighter treatment ANYWAY. |
