A few notable topics here. There's a question about some long awaited games at the bottom of the first page. Also, there are rumours of Valve developing their own console device. Edited by Luffy Foxtrot, Mar 5 2012, 06:18 PM.

Honestly, while I love Steam I think a Valve console is a really weird idea. It's got the benefit of being able to play Steam games but... all the disadvantages of being a console. Meaning you can't upgrade it (or if you can, it'd be with components I could put into a real computer anyway) and it does fewer things than a real computer. If I ended up buying a Gabecube it'd be on the merits of their biometrics systems and modular controller, I can't think of anything else that would persuade me. |

With all the new game consoles coming out, adding another to the list seems weird and pointless. I mean, if it's like steam I'm guessing the games are cheaper and that's cooler... but could it really compete? |

Honestly that's why I think the rumours are just that What does Steam have to gain from making a console? Their customers are all PC users and it doesn't take a deep look into the Steam forums to tell that a large number of them think that PC is the only way to go for gaming If I wanted to play Steam games on my TV... I can already link my PC to my TV Edited by Jacquerel, Mar 6 2012, 04:03 AM.

Yeah, I don't really see any point of this in the long run; Valve knows well enough the PC master race doesn't like being tied down by consoles and creating content exclusively for this just seems like they're limiting themselves to on aspect of the market. |

The rumours were just misunstandings, as Valve's acquiring of certain hardware was simply a means of testing what they call their "Big Picture Mode UI", which is just the Steam platform having a different interface appearance when users hook their PC's up to their big screen TV's. |

I was looking for this topic, figured it'd be titled differently. So this piece of news just popped up: http://mynintendonews.com/2012/09/03/valve-confirms-its-making-hardware/ |
