Raining on your parade with a truckload of awkward awesomeness.

I am really not going to enjoy this come November 2nd. Spoilers everywhere and I won't be able to do anything about it because the movie doesn't show in Australia 'till Boxing Day. Seriously.

Even worse is that apparently the dudes in UK don't get to see it until February. Three full months. What the actual fuck, Disney?

They still need to change all the accents and replace all the background characters with kangaroos before you guys can see it.
jk/ That sucks though.

I'm hoping me and the man will go see it tonight. If not, maybe after I get paid next week.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

I wanted to see it today, But I'm waiting on when my parents are available to come with as a family thing, everyone I know lives too far away. Hopefully I can catch it tomorrow.

Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 84%

Kotaku said this in the last paragraph of their review (the only part I read)

Quote:

Wreck-It-Ralph is a superb family flick, but it is still a bit of a failure, sadly, because it chooses not to dip deep into the video game waters its treads. That’s a real shame, because Wreck-It-Ralph is such a golden opportunity that only an entity like Disney could orchestrate in the first place.

Calling it testing the waters. Sounds like it is still a good movie.

I just saw it. It sucked.
Nah. It was awesome. Seriously better than I thought it would be.
Spoiler: click to toggle

9.9/9

Unfortunately I saw a teaser for Smurfs 2... ruined the previews. And an annoying teaser for Despicable Me 2 with those yellow twinkie turds.
Oh, and there was a short 10 min film before the movie started called "The Paper Man".

If you want to hear Sonic's short random cameos, here they are.

Edit: Oh, and that song from the band "FUN" song "Some Nights" from the trailer is nowhere in there... I kinda hoped, but it was just for the trailer.

Notice a few things?

Don't tell Sephiroth.

Anyway, I just saw it tonight, and thought it was great. I really enjoyed it. There was a ton of references at the beginning, but they backed off of it as the movie progressed, which more or less is a good thing.

My two geek friends from back home saw it with me today. It was glorious. I wish there was more. Loved the music, the voices fit greatly, and so many easter eggs. I'm too much of a nerd though when I gripe about the wrong boss being paired with the wrong level from Sonic 2 in the credits.

That part went by so fast all I really saw was the level itself close up.

So after they supposedly stopped referencing videogames, was it just, completely gone or were they more subtle about it later on during the movie?

Yeah after that I don't remember too many if at all any other references. It would be too distracting to the main plot when that develops, you know?

They were more spread out. You see the occasional one if you're observant enough, but beyond that it takes a back seat.
