That I was admitted to a local hospital on Monday and was stuck there until Friday night. The issue was kind of serious, but not really. About 50/50. Anyway, the basic jist was that an x-ray on the same day had determined that an air bubble had managed to form outside of my right lung, which was preventing said lung from expanding and contracting like it should. As a result, collapsed upon itself. The days spent in hospital was so that the doctors could insert a small plastic tube into the lung area and drain out the excess air, allowing my lung to properly expand again.

It's a case that is known to happen somewhat commonly among tall and lean people, like myself. Whether fortunate or unfortunate, it was classified as a spontaneous case for me. So yea, I've been home for a day or so now and I hope that it won't happen again since I hate to imagine what lengths the doctors would have to go to so it won't happen again.

The medical term is coined as "pneumothorax" if any of you want to know more about it.

Oh, so that's what happened back in the quotes thread. Incidentally, I wouldn't go back there if I were you, if you're still worried about chest pains. >.>

It's good to see you're alright now, in any case.

I've read about pneumothorax before, and I can safely say it does't sound like a good time. It's good to hear you're alright, though.

Ooh, I've heard of those. I heard it feels like there's a hole inside you, like there's something missing inside of you, when ironically it's called by the increased pressure of the bubble.

Anyway, glad you're ok. I remember asking about the chest problems in the Epic Quotes topic about two weeks ago, but I never got an answer to it.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

This can also be an acquired condition for soldiers in the battlefield who are shot in the chest with bullets that embed themselves in the body. The air pressure collapses the lung and a temporary solution is inserting a valve that has to be turned to drain the pressured air every few minutes until the person seeks proper medical attention.

Sucks to hear that you had that man, I got worried when I found out in the hospital. Glad to see it's been resolved though and that you're well on your way to a speedy recovery.

Good to hear you're doing better.

And I must admit I'm an awful person for instantly thinking "FUCK YEAH" when I read it's most common in tall and lean people. Ergo, not something I have to worry about as much. Being the opposite of tall and lean. And stuff. D:
