What do we want? Funding! How will we get it? Comics!

That’s the goal of the Occupy Comics Kickstarter project, launched Wednesday by transmedia studio Halo-8 and explained in the video pitch below. The plan is to graphically document the Occupy movement with the help of a roster of respected comics creators and artists, then funnel the proceeds directly to the protesters taking hits and making history for the 99 percent.

“Comics is at the root of this thing,” Halo-8 founder and Occupy Comics organizer Matt Pizzolo said in an e-mail to Wired.com. “Just look at Alan Moore and David Lloyd’s V for Vendetta masks at every protest. A Guy Fawkes mask is now a more iconic image of street protest than a gas mask.”

Basically, big names from the comic book industry have gathered together to collaborate on a project supporting Occupy Wall Street. On that note, Alan Moore himself has joined Occupy Comics.

So incredibly, thoroughly approve. The movements has always made a lot of sense to me. What has shat me up the fucking wall is that most protesters don't even seem to know what they're protesting. Most of the people protesting here just turn out to be socialist alternatives. I wouldn't care if they weren't protesting the wrong things at completely unrelated protest.

Anyway, the crux of the argument is what will be on display with these comics and I think it may help to draw more of the attention that it deserves.
Good Game

Hex: Yes, you've read the book, you've seen the film - now avoid the game like the plague lest your memory of Harry Potter's epic conclusion be tainted by what can only be described as a short, half-arsed cover-shooter that's boring beyond belief.

Bajo: ...It's shit.

Let's hope it's strong enough to send the message across, there's just too much negativity surrounding what Occupy Wall Street is really suppoed to be about (or at least, from what I gather anyway). You're right about the posers and hipsters trying to stand out though.
