This is a game i created myself It basically mixes D&D with the pokemon universe. You start out by rolling dice for each of your stats them being- Strength: Dexterity (speed): Constitution (health): Intelligence: (smarts) Wisdom: (how you use your smarts) Charisma (social): They can go from 1 to 20 and you get 1 re-roll per stat. 1d20 is how much for the stats 1d6 is how much you roll for the game. The game works like this you roll the die for 1-6 saying things like "I'll go investigate the forest" you roll the die if you get a low number let's say a 1 the worst possible thing will happen to you, but no death or being random. If say it's a 6 it's the best thing same rule about being random applies there too. if it's a 3 or 4 that would count as a medium as in the "dungeon-master" decides a average fate for you. I almost forgot you start out as a trainer in your hometown what supplies you get are determined by dice roll. Also you get to choose your pokemon but it has to be level 10 or under at the start. Also there's one crucial thing i left out, that being "skills". Skills were the things that you learnt on your own. But now as you catch new pokemon you get one new skill for each pokemon you catch. But there's a limit to skills as well as there is to pokemon. You can catch as many pokemon as you like but you can only have 6 skills and 6 pokemon. So in order to get needed skills for what you want you must swap out a pokemon with a unneeded skill and for one with that you need. The Trainer performs the skills and not the pokemon. Think of it as the pokemon not having to do everything. Some skills are obvious but just ask the dungeon-master what skill the pokemon has and they will tell you. It's usually me but if for some reason it's not make sure the skill makes sense for that pokemon and it's something a human can do. Now since we don't have any actual dice we'll just use coding. As soon as i figure out the rest of the coding i'll get back to you and we'll be all set or someone could tell me how to use dice on here. Edited by TaroMaster4, Nov 22 2011, 03:11 AM.

I think Polter actually created code for rolling dice, I just have no clue how it works. I'll just wait for him to roll by here and explain the details. XD On that note, I think this belongs in traditional games more than forum games, so I'll just move it over there. |

There's two ways we can do this. First is that you press the roll button at the top of your posting screen. It should give you the normal format of dice rolls as: [num]d[sides]+[extra(opt.)] What this essentially means is that you type in the number of dice to roll, times the number of sides on that dice, plus or minus any extra modifying amount to it. Therefore, if I wanted to roll three normal dice and add two to my result, I would type in: 3d6+2 So, if you type in a formatted amount in the box that appears after hitting the Roll button, it will automatically fill it in for you, and then it displays the amount you rolled after you post. In any case, the bracket that you want to enclose your roll in should be [roll] Edited by The Raging Zephyr, Nov 22 2011, 05:02 PM.

alright, how do I explain this... A normal die is called a d6. A single d6 can roll a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6. So, 1d6, which is one d6, which is one normal die, can roll from 1 to 6. 2d6 roll from 2 to 12, by counting together the sum of two normal dice. 3d6 would be a number from 3 to 18, with the sum of three normal dice. Depending on your skin and such, there should be a little button above the area where you type words into that's probably after "Table" and before "Font". It should say "Roll" It should ask you to type in what you want to roll. Type in '1d6' without the quotes. Hit 'OK' and it should format the dice roll for you automatically, so you can see what it looks like. I unfortunately cannot get any more clear than that because the code tags don't want to allow me to explicitly show how the function works. Edit: Nevermind, I apparently can show it. [roll][/roll] Put 1d6 or something like that in-between the tags. It should give you a number when you post. When you hover over the number with your mouse cursor, it should show you what dice were rolled, how many, and what they landed on. So, for instance, the number under this is the result of rolling three normal dice, and then adding two, aka 3d6+2: [result]13&4:4:3,3d6,2,13&3d6+2[/result] Edited by The Raging Zephyr, Nov 22 2011, 09:05 PM.
