There's also gonna be a 3D movie and video game.

Holy shit.

That's a lot of effort to be something not real. Of course, IGN did the same thing with Zelda.

Still, wow.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

...apparently it doesn't take much to please you guys... lol

I mean come on...this is... ridiculous. It's just as bad as giving Justin Beiber his own reality show or something. Not only is the concept completely dumb and generic, the title itself is a bad joke people have made over and over, when they first heard he actually became the governor. It's a complete rip-off of Iron Man, but with robot aliens and a famous ex-governor as the hero. This is absolute proof that Hollywood is completely out of ideas. What's worse, is that they plan to also make this a live action movie and videogame...

He is actually a pretty good governor though, never accepted a paycheck from governing because of their budget crisis.

Does it really count as a rip-off, since Stan Lee, who made Iron Man, is making this?

Also, I already gave up hope on Hollywood. Don't make me bring up the live action "Akira" abomination.

Also also, why can't we just enjoy it for being so ridiculous and over-the-top stupid? 3:

Also, it's intentionally tongue in cheek, it's parodial on purpose, it's meant to be over the top and ridiculous. If you really can't see that and enjoy that aspect of what this show's supposed to be, then it's obviously not meant for you. :P

Ripping off yourself is just as bad.

But how can one rip off oneself if oneself was the guy who created the original concept/character/whatevery?

Just because you create one thing doesn't mean you should make a clone of the exact same thing with a different person, unless it's like an altered reboot of some sort. This is just facepalm material.

Stan Lee is fucking insane these days. At one point didn't he want to do the same thing with Paris Hilton?

If you're talking about Striperella, that was Pamela Anderson...and he DID end up creating that show and comic. Yeah, he's a bit of an oddball sometimes.

Striperella was actually great because of the studio that made it and the funny script writing. But no, I did hear that Paris Hilton was supposed to get the same treatment http://www.azcentral.com/ent/celeb/article...80808paris.html

Buyers Already Wary of The Governator

Doubts about the success of Arnold Schwarzenegger's upcoming comic book/cartoon series are already in abundance, especially with the TV executives. Hit the jump to hear executives' take on the trailer and other things...

From The Hollywood Reporter:

In private conversations, exec after exec expressed doubts about the viability of a 2D traditional cartoon aimed at young kids from the man behind The Terminator and Total Recall. “I was hoping he’d be back with an action series or another film — that’s what the market wants,” one veteran European buyer says. “But a cartoon? That’s a hard sell, especially since it’s not even in 3D.”

The Governator trailer Schwarzenegger screened in Cannes did little to reassure buyers. “It was action, action, action and nothing we haven’t seen before,” says Claude Schmit, head of Super RTL, Europe’s top children’s channel. “It looked like a lot of stuff out there at the moment. Lego, Hasbro, Playmobile — they’re all producing cartoon series now, and all of them are very action-heavy. There’s a bit of a glut of this stuff.”

Schmit echoes many buyers in saying Super RTL is taking a wait-and-see approach to Governator: “We want to see scripts before we commit,” he says. “They said it was going to be funny and family-friendly, but that’s not what they showed.”

Comic book great Stan Lee of Spider-Man and X-Men fame is helping write the scripts, and Andy Heyward’s cartoon credits include global hits Inspector Gadget and G.I. Joe. India media giant Tata is on board to bankroll the production, but whether it reaches mass audiences is another matter.

“They’ll get it made, no doubt, but will they be able to sell it?” one American sales exec asks. “This has been an amazing marketing blitz. This project has been reported more widely than any series I’ve ever seen. But they’ve set the bar very high. Now they have to deliver.”

The Governator makes his way onto your TV next year, with a 3D movie hitting theaters in 2013.

You kind of have to be an oddball to be a chief figure in one of the biggest comic book corporations in the world, let alone having created half the Marvel universe.
