A governor in Maine as well is rooting for it as well, according to the same article linked by Shuki. |

Nah I just meant back in the day, everyone had money...even the "poor". Also, about child labour stuff, I kinda see both sides of it, but it's not really that big a deal. It's not like they're forcing kids to work to bring more income into the household, they're just removing restrictions to allow kids more freedom to work as long as they can handle it. It's completely optional. Although I do worry if certain places of work will start to enforce normal work hours for younger kids as a result, instead of giving them some leeway due to school and whatnot. Like anything, it could be abused, but then, why would anyone want to work in a place like that anyway? |

As I had warned people before, it never stops there. Especially with the Republican GOP. EDIT: Not really Republican GOP, but sure smells of it. Kansas seeks to dredge up defunct law that makes homosexuals criminals. Ok, this is hitting way too close to home. Fuck that, it's a direct hit. |

Is it just me, or does it seem like America is moving backwards instead of forwards? I really thought we're at the point where shit like homosexuals and immigrants aren't four letter words these days. |

The Tea Party Republicans are at the spearhead of this new string of legislative fury. There's no real goal except make life a perfect hell for the voters who voted for Obama. |

You know what, I think it's pretty fucked up to know that there are people out there willing to draw lines at where they want improvement just because there's an element they're not pleased with involved. I'm sure Obama could've done a lot for the country if these people weren't constantly up in his grill all the time. |

It kind of bothers me that this thread was just made out of pure biased hate and assumptions. |

It was more made out of WI budget drudgery mixed with a needed dumping ground before "teabagers" became the new "texass" or "only in". Also, of corse the gays are criminals, because sex is icky and men are gross. But hey, on the bright side, at least something was bi-partisan in this country! |

For the record, I don't have any bias because I don't know anything about American politics. I'm just going with what I'm reading and there's very little to no places on the internet that discuss this issue from any kind of objective viewpoint that makes some of these changes sound good. The wellfare thing sounds a tad extreme. Why punish everyone just because a minority abused a privelage? That'd be like banning insurance because some people commit acts of insurance fraud. |

GOP in the Federal House of Representatives is pushing for keeping food stamps away from families who have parents who strike. First, attack the unions. Now, attack the people part of the union. Worse then that, kids are also in the line of fire here thanks to this proposal. I'm shocked. |

...and that's why we're "biased" against the teabaggers: because they are determined to spite people simply because McCain didn't get the presidency. |

Keiji... somehow I don't think that's correct. Or at least an blurry point of view from all the way on one side. That food stamp thing is pretty bogus though. |

Personally, I'm against the tea party because my political beliefs oppose theirs, but if it turns out that they are a cartoonist hive-mind bent of destroying America because one election turned out sour for their party, then I guess that would be a good reason to justify blind hatred as well. |
