This prompted a response from said Japanese gamers. Really, I have no idea what he's talking about, it's Western gamers who have perpetuated modern tropes in gaming that include ridiculously easy difficulty settings and hand-holding tutorial prompts that pester you all the way until the final boss.

Such a waste of money that could be spent on making games. I swear, with this industry, if it's not throwaway cellphone games or AAA big budget garbage, it's not worth making.
