I doubt Volition cares enough to region lock the game either (they'd lose money when you think of it).

Reason for refusal of classification: the "Alien Anal Probe" represents sexual violence/assault that is not justifiable by the context of the game. Also, drugs that give you superpowers in only one mission in the whole game. The first reason is pretty understandable, but that's really it. On the other things mentioned in this topic: Australia falls under the European region for games (AKA PAL), so importing from the UK will work. However, importing unclassified games (or maybe just refused games) is a punishable crime in the eyes of Australian law. I'm not sure how customs works properly in regards to video games, 'cos I have a copy of Digimon World Re:Digitize on PSP and that was never released out of Japan. Techically, the Xbox 360 is also region free, like the PS3. But everyone locks their games on 360 for some reason.

Considering how much he's ignoring Metal Gear 1 and 2, I expect them to get the shaft completely soon enough, or to be remade to the point where they're no longer recognisable.

But everyone locks their games on 360 for some reason. It's region locked and up to the publisher(s) of the game to make it region free if they want to or not. Call of Duty 3 (not MW3) is an example. I people were buying the Asian edition because it was cheaper than the normal one. This is backwards from Sony's view of having their console region free with the publisher(s) deciding whether or not they want to region lock their game(s) (Persona 4 Arena is an example of this). Microsoft technically has a region locked console for this reason.
