Way to go Capcom.

Capcom has joined the list of Crappy Developers a long time ago (Konami and Namco too but that's for another time XD). Yeah the only thing Capcom is focusing on is making the Super Ultra Turbo Mecha Duodenum 3D Marvel vs. Capcom 4........and crappy Dragon Dogma! XD

"Here's some 'P''S''P' Feta Cheese video to show you all what Sunny has to offer........he he he he he Atlas rules!"

No idea where else to put this.

The ESRB have posted an E for Everyone rating for Klonoa: Door to Phantomile. For the PS3 and PSP. Possible PSone Classics release on the PlayStation Store coming?

You guys do realise we have a thread for Legends 3, right? So I guess this officially makes Capcom Japan's Activision and Square Japan's EA...or maybe it's the other way around, I dunno. It's really sad that how out of the big 6 Japanese companies (Capcom, Konami, NAmco, Square, Sega and Nintendo) that pioneered the industry, only two of them are still producing/publishing quality products on a more regular basis.

To be fair, I went looking for the Legends 3 topic as soon as I found the info here. I was looking in the wrong section, though >.>

Totally forgot it was a Nintendo-exclusive game.

So hey guys...

The SCAG meeting happened again; and under the new proposed guidelines, everyone except the NSW Attorneys-General went in favour.

Normally this would be game over, again, but the Home Affairs Minister, Brendan O'Connor, said that the federal government are 'over-riding' the NSW General's decision and going ahead with implementing the R18+ rating, regardless of what he says.

Now, the issue here is that, unless the NSW guy changes his mind after the new guidelines are completed, we'll end up in a situation where R18+ games will be legal everywhere in Australia except NSW.

So yea, we are getting somewhere. However, whether this will allow previously RC'd games like Mortal Kombat to be reviewed for R18+ remains to be seen:

Quote:

O'Connor said even with an R18+ rating the conditions that had led some games to be “refused classification” – or effectively banned from sale – had not changed.

“There is certain material that should not be accessed lawfully in this country,” he said.

Wow, guy's a major douche, even that photo of him oozes with it. His comment about "material that should not be accessed lawfully" is retarded; IT'S A FUCKING VIDEOGAME, NOT WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!

At the very least the rest of the country will enjoy releases now, without the hassle of worrying if they'll be banned or not. Still needz moar MK.

Some news on Operation Rainfall:

http://oprainfall.blogspot.com/2011/07/sou...last-story.html

Quote:

American localization of Xenoblade is complete, The Last Story is currently being translated to English for an American release, but there is no word on Pandora’s Tower localization.  This information was disclosed to Operation Rainfall today from a source within Nintendo who wishes to remain anonymous.  There is currently no indication of when Nintendo of America plans to formally announce these titles.

Last week Nintendo of America told its followers on Facebook and Twitter that it had no plans to bring Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora’s tower to America “at this time.”   Nintendo intentionally left open the possibility of release.  Allegedly, the Redmond, WA branch has been working with other branches to bring Xenoblade and The Last Story to North America.

According to our source, The NTSC version of Xenoblade was completed just over a month ago, while testing for the PAL and NTSC versions of The Last Story could begin in a month.  There is currently no word on localization for an NTSC version of Pandora’s Tower.

Remember, this information was disclosed to Operation Rainfall in confidence.  Until Nintendo of America makes an announcement, there will be no official word of an NTSC release.  However, this news has increased our hope for a North American release of these games.  It could also explain why retailers like Amazon continue to have Xenoblade (Monado: Beginning of the World) listed on their website.

Make of this information what you will, but after much internal discussion Operation Rainfall believed it would be best to share this information with our followers.  Consider this our announcement of a forthcoming announcement.

Help us keep the pressure on Nintendo, and hopefully we will get a formal announcement of Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower sooner rather than later.

We're actually getting somewhere! On that note, here's an interesting quote from the original forum topic with regards to the status post they made on Facebook:

Quote:

If you recall, that's the same statement they gave for the black Wii, Classic Controller Pro, the Wii bundled with Wii Sports Resort, Mario 25th Anniversary, the ability to run WiiWare games from SD card, and a Virtual Console-type service on a portable system.

"No Plans" means "we haven't officially announced it yet, so hold tight, and KEEP SENDING LETTERS, EMAILS, AND PHONE CALLS!!!"

EDIT: Here's something interesting as well. My buddy Gunner decided to follow in Operation Rainfall's success and do his own blog with regards to the cancellation of Megaman Legends:

Operation THIS IS WHAT WE'RE FIGHTING FOR!

Spread the world people, this one's on a smaller scale right now and could use as much coverage as it can get.

EDIT 2: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IT IS TIME:

Capcom's colossal dickery over Megaman Legends 3 is the topic of the day, followed by their bullshit excuse for not releasing updates to MvC3 and instead releasing the "Ultimate" version on disc being that it was due to the earthquake. This is called out as bullshit and is proven to be false by people.

Ubisoft comes out and has the balls to say that hardcore gamers have casual gamers to thank for the games they want, claiming that selling shovelware in abundance is what brings in the funds for their HD titles. I fucking SAID THIS on THAT OTHER SITE, but NO ONE LISTENED. Anyway, this one other Ubisoft dude talks about how apparently Capcom might be attacked by Anon soon and that consumers are powerful and important to the company and that they should be pandered. Sounds to me like someone's covering their asses for fear of backlash. There's also talk about annual Assassin's Creed games. It then goes on to say how the Wii U is what's forcing the other two to release new consoles. All this random gibberish might be attributed to their stock dropping recently. The online pass is apparently being implemented because they lost a lot of money over Call of Juarez.

LOLOLOL Metacritic has caught reviewers taking bribes for reviewing games.

Trailer for new indie game called Sideway, which looks pretty badass.

LBP was, apparently meant to be free to play. FF-VS-XIII is still not in production. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was supposed to have Simon Belmont in it (fuck you Konami). Disgaea 4 will have minor restrictions on map edit mode due to regulation differences between regions. New Voltron coming to PSN and Live on October.

Nintendo says Zelda games are taking too long to make and they want to speed up the process to make them come out faster. Nintendo, don't fuck this up, seriously, you can't fuck with Zelda. DO NOT FUCK WITH ZELDA. Remember Miyamoto's saying?

"A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever."

Seriously Nintendo, you've lived with this creedo for years, you can't fuck this up now. Don't screw with your fans, your core gamerbase can only take so much abuse.

Bleach coming, Dead Island comes out in September 6. God of War Master Collection is coming that houses EVERY SINGLE GOD OF WAR GAME, EVER. Ico and Shadow of Colossus ports will be chock full of extras and goodies, both due out on 18th of Semptember (maybe).

Batman: Arkham City is going to be coming out with future episodes as DLC to extend longevity. This is just another example of coming with DLC BEFORE the game is out, so expect milking. Remember how they wanted online passes for this game? You know, a game with no online play? Yeah, I'm sure you can see where this is going.

Capcom's gone too far for me. I'm considering not getting any more of their games in the future alongside pirating a few titles. You can't deny that the games are generally good, but a company that's doing shit like THIS to their fans doesn't deserve any of their money. You can't just make good games, you've also gotta respect your fans, not treat them like "a node which money flows out of and into our pockets". Most gamers are discerning enough to know when a company is pumping them for money, and this is one of those times.

I literally felt sad because Legends 3 was canceled. It wasn't a good feeling. Capcom, you're not getting any of my money or respect until you rectify this situation.
A desolate place, without any trace
It's only the cold wind I feel
It's me that I spite, as I stand up and fight
The only thing I know for real
There will be bloodshed!

They did the same with Street Fighter 4, they can't blame this on a earthquake. Yeah, I'm not getting MvsC3 when they re-release it for a lower price. Yeah they don't respect their fans. Which is why I love Sega, they do whatever they can do please their Sonic Fanbase.

Assassin's Creed games come out way too often, and the gameplay is always the same repetitious crap.

And I can't believe LBP is pay to play, even with the first being free, I didn't play it online all that much. p2p is always a bad route.

I'm still certain that, at one point, Ubisoft had stated that they were gonna put Assassin's Creed on hiatus after Brotherhood. Probably the main reason why I'm not hyped for Revelations, because it feels like a case of crumbling to the gamers demand and going back on their original word. They're basically promoting the decay of the series, which they wanted to put the series on hiatus to avoid. Dick move, Ubi. Dick move.

And what the fuck is this shit about LBP being P2P? As far as I'm aware, both games have been F2P, aside from the DLC. Did something change here, or have I not been paying attention?

Seriously, I have no recollection of LBP 1 or 2 saying that you had to pay to play it. Am I seriously missing something here?

I think many people seem to forget just how small the 360 Discs are. Mass Effect 2 was split into two discs because it was far too large to write into one disc, because of the new game engine and graphics engine. Even with the split, they were still a bit crammed. Thankfully, they still kept the price the same.

Batman: Arkham City could in fact do the same tactic, but we might have to wait for another year for release as they wrote the new content on the second disc. As for the DLC mentioned, I'm going to have to see what it actually is before making any definitive judgment. If it's more missions for the campaign, why not? If it's something more online-oriented, then I would have to pass.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

Guys, I think he meant that when LBP was originally conceived, it was going to be a FREE GAME that may have come with the PS3, perhaps as a downloadable title.

Made by fan demand.

Let's get one thing perfectly fuckin' straight here - fans of any franchise generally don't know how a videogame ticks, and it isn't uncommon for them to be completely retarded on top of that, so more often than not any demand they make has a tendency to be a fairly stupid idea. On top of that, they are also completely self-contradictary, so attempting to appeal to them is generally about as likely to succeed as it is to rain turds from the sky, because at any time there is anything from an individual fan to an entire fucking sect of fans who always have completely different ideas of what their perfect game should be like (and sometimes aren't even satisfied when their exact criteria is met, such as was the case with Sonic-Adventure-3-by-any-other-name '06).

I get what you're saying here, but there's a mighty fuckin' big difference between putting in throwbacks and giving gamers (not even specifically fans) their dues, and basing nearly every decision they make over what the fans say and compromising the actual quality of their games over it, and I'd much rather the comparison be avoided because fanboys by and large have proven to be complete hypocritical bastards that have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. Capcom cancelled MML3 and had the nerve to blame fans over it, kicked Megaman out of MvC3 twice and did an amazingly half-assed job of Mercs 3D, going as far as to sabotage it perhaps even deliberately to limit pre-owned sales. These are all dick moves and there's no denying that, but pandering to fans has almost nothing to do with it that doesn't apply to gamers in general, and I really wish people would stop using this as an excuse to make fanboys look more entitled than they really are.

That is true. However, what Capcom is doing is diametrically opposite of what Sonic Team does. Capcom hears the outcry of the fans and they won't answer anything they want...until maybe like 10 years later when fans have just about forgot about it.

Of course, I still love Shadow the Hedgehog. :|
