What was the first DLC ever? and Why the hell did they go with it? I want a roundhouse discussion of this stuff. As far as I can tell, DLC was originally conceived as expanded game content in digital form that was created to increase replayability and add more to the game. It was a natural evolution of the expansion packs of old, but in digital form as the internet had become more widespread and pretty much everyone had access to it. This insured players could easily connect and download said content to add more to their gaming experience, be it free or for purchase. I'm not sure what the first DLC was, though, that'll need a bit more research. Also, PETA is still as stupid as ever, I see.

Posts: 4,950 Group: Elite Member #70 Joined: November 11, 2009	Besides the upcoming KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 ReMIX, there's another game on the horizon. This one is simply a browser game, but appears to have some level of online functionality. It's called KINGDOM HEARTS x[chi] (Kingudamu Haatsu Kii). One of the comments mentions that it'll be set during the time of the Keyblade Wars, but it's not yet known whether this is as vital to the overall plot as every other game. Square Enix Japan is currently accepting closed beta applications, though only those with Yahoo! JAPAN ID's can apply. Whether this'll be playable locally remains to be seen. Probably not.
