If anything, there'd probably be a point where they'd all be identical eventually negating competition, but I doubt they'd just drop dead because of cellphone games. On that note, movie theaters still do big business and box office sales are a determinant factor on how well a movie does, so I don't see how that's a good analogy for this supposedly coming situation.

As a result of financial losses through their English branches, SEGA is re-evaluating some business aspects, even going as far as to cancel games currently in development and push more focus towards their more popular IPs, like Sonic the Hedgehog, for instance. This gives me the impression that the possibility of a proper English release of Phantasy Star Online 2 will be increasingly less likely D:

I really hope this doesn't set PSO2 back, it's an MMO, it could run off itself as long as they keep it going.

I guess it makes sense since, despite publishing some DAMN good games, said games haven't really sold too well. At the very least, Aliens is off the chopping block.

It's the reason everything in the Metal Gear series has become such a staple for stealth based military games.
