The confusion between the two has led us to the current HD arms race where devs constantly try to one up each other with their graphical budgets when instead, they should be trying to refine a game's aesthetic style to be more in line with what the consumers want. A game can look "realistic" without the kind of excessive abuse of graphics engines we see today. |
