...really? What in the serious fuck? If the gaming industry is actually at threat because people are playing games they already paid for that wouldn't ordinarily be playable and don't have to pay another sixty bucks for another game in a series of constant rehashes that are only allowed to exist because they're specifically exploiting the fact that previous games aren't playable, then by all means let the whole fucking thing crash and start over. This is an absolute joke.

 Preeeeeetty much. Not to mention there are a LOT of old games that have zero hope for official revival or restoration, so going 'ah-ah-ah, we might use that later' isn't even a viable defense. Fuck that mentality, I'll install Descent II, slap the 20X-XL mod onto it so I can play it, and enjoy the custom maps and mechanics that fans poured their heart and passion into, and you can't do jack shit to stop me because that game's from an age before digital distribution and invasive DRM.

 Oh, I knew that looked familiar. This was shown last month. And it still doesn't look any less cringeworthy. It's not even just the artstyle that's wrong with it, they're trying to put two entirely different concepts together and it comes off about as subtly as trying to violently jam a square peg into a round hole.

So pretty much par the course for new!Rare.
