IGN Editorial: Shock Without The Awe. One of those rare articles that are the reason I keep IGN in my bookmarks.
Good Game

Hex: Yes, you've read the book, you've seen the film - now avoid the game like the plague lest your memory of Harry Potter's epic conclusion be tainted by what can only be described as a short, half-arsed cover-shooter that's boring beyond belief.

Bajo: ...It's shit.

Heheh, so true.
lol, you can't really blame the employee though, if they don't spew all that crap they'll probably get fired.
This is why I sell my games on Craigslist instead.

Yeah I know, corporate has the employees by the balls, pays them shit and forces them to endure constant humiliation at a job that is probably less rewarding than it should be. If anything, I should blame the employees for actually taking a job like this and subjugating themselves to daily toruture when flipping burgers is probably a way more rewarding experience.

I don't know... I rather be around videogames all day than flipping a burger... even if it means pushing crap on them.
I'd probably skip the whole shtick if the boss wasn't watching, but they probably have cameras and look to see what you're doing or something.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

If you meet up at a large mall, not much can go wrong.
I've never had a bad experience with the people I've met.

I think my cousin used Craig's List to get his first 360. Got a really sweet deal on it and he said the guy was pretty friendly and stuff. I guess it's a lot like shopping anywhere online really, you just have to be really selective and ask questions before getting down to business.

I didn't know whether to post this here or in YLYL:

Freakin' hilarious, but I wouldn't put it past them not to try something in there. On that note, here's an interesting, tongue-in-cheek article about wanting to work in the industry:

On that note, here's an interesting, tongue-in-cheek article about wanting to work in the industry:
I'd actually like to point out that that I found out about points #2 and #7 firsthand while studying for a gaming college, so in hindsight I'm actually kinda glad that I dropped out just out of how unecessarily strict and controlling they are over the whole thing. If any of you guys are considering getting into the industry yourselves, I'd reccomend taking really fucking strong consideration into how well you'd fare on the Indie front instead, because at least that way you won't find your life absolutely raped by ridiculous time constraints and not having a single say in anything that's ever asked of you. Community's a lot friendlier too come to think of it.

And if you do one bad game, it'll be harder to be considered for other games. And we all know how many bad games are out there.

Because I needed a reminder of the cruel truth I've known for years as I make my way into the related industry.

Indie is by far the way to go. The people that you can work with are pretty much by your own choice, the games you work on are pretty much by your own choice.

Oh, and actual gamers respect you. That's always a plus. Sure, you won't have absurd budgets to spend on graphics and grade-A voice actors and blast processing, but did you really need all of that to begin with?

It's interesting to read that, because I keep getting offers to return to college to take up video game writing. Not really interested, though...
