Granted, I still find the outrage goddamned surreal coming from fans of the franchise with a fucking playable bear without batting an eyelid all kinds of hilarious, but even when they don't have a decent point this logic is a cheap cop out that benefits absolutely nobody. In other news, it turns out Sonic isn't the only thing Sega has in mind for movie adaptations. Quote: Of the vast library of titles that Stories has the rights to adapt, it�s moving forward with �Altered Beast,� �Streets of Rage,� �Shinobi,� �Rise of Nightmares� and �Crazy Taxi� first as English-language live action and animated spinoffs. �Virtua Fighter� and �Golden Axe� also are part of the portfolio of properties. I don't know what puzzles me more - that they're putting all their eggs in one basket before even seeing how Sonic fares, that they think they can make a film adaptation of fucking Crazy Taxi of all things, or that they even have the money to put forward that many films to start with.

Posts: 17,366 Group: All Powerful Deity Member #1 Joined: December 30, 2005	There's already a film franchise called Taxi; they're pretty much movie adaptations of Crazy Taxi as is. I think what's more perplexing for me is that they're willing to bring out these old properties to develop into movies as opposed to releasing new games for them, or even making remakes. Yes, I'm still bitter about how Sega Japan shut down Sega Australia when they had developed perfectly awesome remakes of all their Genesis classics, to the point where they created a storyline that would tie the franchises together as part of one universe. As for my statement being weak, every game has shitty characters, especially fighting games. At the end of the day though, they're not your characters, they're the creator's, and they probably had a number of reasons to make this character, the least of which was because THEY wanted to. More often than not, given time, people come to enjoy and appreciate these characters and maybe just come a little closer to understanding the motive behind their existence. It might look like a bad investment or waste of resources to one person, but another may actually enjoy and appreciate it.
