Interestingly enough, in Verizon stores, reps aren't allowed to answer the phones if there is a waiting queue in the lobby. It's more practical really, since if there's a running queue, it means all reps are currently assisting customers one-on-one and cannot break away from their cases to answer calls. Only the manager can answer the calls, and more times than not, they are unable to because of monitoring, conference calls and assisting reps.
That doesn't excuse GameStop in any way, but it's something not unheard of.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.
But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.
game - gun = gay game + gun = -gay game + gun + Arem = ???
Raining on your parade with a truckload of awkward awesomeness.

So I'm just gonna use this post to talk about things that happen during this year's The Game Awards.
Spoiler: click to toggle
-As I mentioned in the MGSV topic, Metal Gear Online is a thing. Not much to say past that. Very heavily scripted reveal trailer.
-First award was "Best Performance in a Game." Winner was Trey Parker for all of the voices he did in South Park: The Stick of Truth.
-A world premiere of a new trailer for Bloodborne. Looks like some multiplayer is a thing.
-Dragon Age: Inquisition is the first game to be announced as a Game of the Year nomination.
-The Banner Saga 2 is announced.
-And now some Bungie guys are talking with Geoff Keighly. Destiny won two awards: best soundtrack and... something.
-Nominees for "Trending Gamer." Yep. Presented by two YouTube stars: iJustine and that guy who yells and breaks things. Evan "Vanoss" Fong, TotalBiscuit, Stampylonghead and... Pewdiepie. The winner was TotalBiscuit.
-EA's on stage now. They have a new "indie" studio, Hazelight.
-And now Dungeon Defenders II is also a thing. Pre-purchase on Steam for Early Access. Because yea.
-Second Game of the Year nominee is Dark Souls II.
-Oh hey it's Adam Orth. Showing off his game, Adrift.
-Two comedians are on stage to reveal the nominees for best mobile/handheld game. Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Bravely Default, Threes, Monument Valley and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. Winnner is Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.
-Geoff's now with Reggie Fil-Aime. Nintendo won two awards: Developer of the Year and best fighting game, with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. World Premiere from Nintendo. Multiplayer reveal for Codename S.T.E.A.M.
-A guy from Face Punch Studios on stage to talk about his prehistoric-era survival game, Before.
-Another nominated GotY is Shadow of Mordor.
-New trailer for Battlefield: Hardline. Focus on the single player campaign.
-Imagine Dragons frontman revealing the nominees for Best Sports/Racing Game. FIFA '15, Trials: Fusion, Forza Horizon 2 and Mario Kart 8. Mario Kart 8 wins. So now Nintendo has (at least) three trophies. I kinda found out about this after it started.
-Now Scott Rody from SCEA on stage to talk about The Order 1886. Also the 20th anniversary of PlayStation. And a celebratory convention called the PlayStation Experience. Buncha upcoming games playable, including (as he said) games that probably shouldn't be playable yet.
-Some other PlayStation games: MLB the Show 15 and a thriller game called Until Dawn. Gameplay seems very similar to Heavy Rain.
-Everyone who attended The Game Awards in person will get a free download code for Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, which launches next week.
-Trailer for The Dark Below expansion for Destiny.
-Halfway point reached, marked by one of the playable characters in that Double Fine game.
-Best Shooter nominees. CoD AW again. Destiny. Far Cry 4. Titanfall. Wolfenstein: The New Order. Far Cry 4 wins.
-Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is also a GotY nominee.
-Guy from CD Projekt Red is on stage now. A look at The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. Brand new trailer revealing a second playable character. Doesn't outright say who the character is.
-Ubisoft Montpellier guys with Geoff now. Valiant Hearts won two awards, one from Games for Change, which I assume is a charity of some sort. And another for Best Narrative, I think.
-New trailer for No Man's Sky now. It still looks amazing.
-Sean Murray from Hello Games on stage to talk about No Man's Sky now. And a music performance from 65 Days of Static, a group that is working on the game's soundtrack/album.
-Hey look a trailer for Evolve. Where the fuck did the PS4 alpha that you delayed go, guys?
-Dafuq is this game? A racing game, but it's just a bunch of pro drivers driving where ever they goddamn please- oh wait, Forza Horizon 2 trailer. ffs I hate ads that make no fucking sense.
-Another world premiere. This time for a Godzilla game coming in 2015 for PS3 and PS4.
-Oh, btw, Conan O'Brien is the one announcing the Game of the Year nominees. Now the focus is on Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor.
-A guy from Naughty Dog, who is the creative director on both The Last of Us and the upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, is on stage to talk about the latter. And also to reveal Sierra's founders as The Game Award's first ever Industry Icons.
-Oh hey, Sierra really is back. And making a brand new King's Quest, too.
-Dungeon Defenders II is also coming to consoles, but exclusively on PlayStation 4.
-Ads for The Wlaking Dead Seaeon 2 and Grand Theft Auto V.
-Now one of the top dogs of PlayStation is on stage to present the nominees for Best Indie Game. Broken Age, Transistor, Shovel Knight, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and Monument Valley. Shovel Knight wins.
-BAYONETTA 2 IS GAME OF THE YEAR NOMINEE GUISE.
-Brand new game from a studio called Robotoki. Called Human Element.
-They're really pushing a super huge world premiere "from one of history's most storied franchises."
-Space game trailer. Holy crap it looks amazing. Better not be a fucking RTS game. Ok it is a fucking RTS game. EVE Online.
-And of course Geoff Keighly is the one to reveal the Game of the Year. The winner is... Dragon Age: Inquisition.
-Reggie's on stage now. And the big reveal is the new Legend of Zelda. A more indepth look, of course. The game world is fucking massive and real open. Also, Epona can run on her own and is smart like a real horse and will navigate around obstacles.
-Release schedule is basically: Majora's Mask 3D, Star Fox and The Legend of Zelda.
-And now Imagine Dragons closes out the event with a music performance of their own. Playing Zelda music, of course. For a bit, at least; now they're playing their own music. Oh, apparently the pianist was motherfucking Koji Kondo.
EA thinks it can own the market if it devours as many studios as it can get its hands on. It's been practicing this policy since as far back as the early 90's, and it doesn't look like they're stopping any time soon.
Well, there's been counter petitions. And the very first one targets the bible.
Warning, minor rant ahead:
Spoiler: click to toggle
Now this just sets off all sorts of buttons for me since it's covering such a highly controversial point, and the counter-petitioners went and had to poke at the bible. I don't support that book at all, mind, in fact I think it's the most hateful, sexist, racist, asinine piece of literature ever written, but it's more that this drops the entire argument into a moral grey area that neither side can safely argue their way out of. The additional other petitions are obvious mockeries in regards to some people getting overly zealous in regards to seeing problems where none exist, but some of these feel like they've gone full potato. ...Actually, this entire thing has gone full potato.
First off, the people petitioning to ban GTA V both have a point and at the same time have chosen to focus on such a tiny aspect of it that it just makes them look apathetic toward the rest of it all. The game glorifies crime and doesn't have the advantage Saints Row does in being so utterly ridiculous that it's impossible to take seriously, which means that people are going to complain about it. Now granted, I never did find out if male prostitutes exist in this game, but don't forget that it's entirely possible to do things like shoot cops who are otherwise not doing anything to you or anyone else. (Assuming you somehow don't have any wanted stars.) Seriously, you can murder pretty much anyone you want for no reason at all (which already includes women out on the street), and yet this latest thing is the straw that breaks the camel's back?
On the other hand, the petition to ban the bible also has its points as it's (and I am not apologizing for this) the single most hateful, sexist, racist, asinine piece of literature that's ever been penned for the sake of controlling the masses, and it is not kind to women. I mean, that thing tries to teach you that women are objects and that it's alright to just murder them if one happens to step out of line where someone can see it. If someone holds Christian values and is seriously trying to ban GTA V over killing prostitutes, they're hypocrites of the highest order and that counter petition is there to slap them in the face with that fact. Although the odds are good they've conveniently forgotten to learn that one.
The more idiotic petitions (such as changing Target's logo) are obvious mockeries of how some people see things that aren't there, kind of like how a cigar isn't a penis but some people insist on seeing one there regardless. Which then turns into a weird sort of meta argument about how some people just can't leave things be because those petitions were made by people who are responding to other people who created the initial petition because they couldn't leave the game be.
Then the article devolves into 'gamurg8 sent rape and deth threts to womenz der' EVIL' and makes me wonder if I can use alcohol as an impromptu Neuralizer to let me forget about this bullshit because god DAMN is this whole thing a big, stinking, rotten potato.

Ever since we started working on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we knew it would be an ambitious game. We wanted, and still aim, to give you an incredible experience, an epic adventure in a vast, completely open fantasy universe.
The sheer size and complexity of The Witcher, key features of the title, have had a decisive impact on production. Now, nearing the end of our work, we see many details that need to be corrected. When we release the most important game in our studio’s history, we must be absolutely sure that we did everything we could to limit any bugs to a level that will allow you to enjoy the game thoroughly.
With this in mind, we took another look at current workloads and what they mean for the team. Even though everyone is working at full speed, we concluded that we need another 12 weeks, so we are shifting the release date of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to May 19th, 2015.
We owe you an apology. We set the release date too hastily. It’s a hard lesson, one to take to heart for the future. We know what we want to do to make Wild Hunt one of the best RPGs you will ever play. And we continue to work hard to achieve just that. So, we apologize and ask for your trust.
Thank you for the all support you show us on a daily basis. We truly do appreciate it. It has fueled us in our passion since the start and will continue to do so.
