I fucking knew it. And judging from the comments I saw on the Escapist article I linked about it, so did everyone else. Valve resubmits Left 4 Dead 2 to the Australian Classification Board, reclassified as R18+. Meaning the full unedited game is now legally purchasable in Australia. How Valve will redistribute the game is currently unknown. Popular opinion is of Valve patching the game through Steam. Console versions? Who knows. Edited by Luffy Foxtrot, Sep 2 2014, 11:07 AM.

For what it's worth, the extra gore did exist on the ozzie versions - it was just dummied out, and with a little tinkering around with settings and region files they could be restored without downloading any extra files whatsoever. If it could be done that simply, it's doubtful that it would take anymore than an on-disc-DLC-esque patch to fix the console versions back up. Absolute best case scenario, the game gets a full Director's Cut physical re-release with all the DLC included as standard. Of course that won't happen because Valve literally doesn't give even the slightest bit of a shit about console releases. |

But you made El Kabong so proud. :'D EDIT: Square wants to bring Dragon Quest VII remake/port on the 3DS to the West, but doesn't know if you'll bite. I really hope they do, because if so, we're just that much closer to having the entire series be playable on one console (IV, V, VI and IX on the DS with VII on the 3DS that just leaves the first three and VIII). |
