See, I'm all for legit alternate ways of unlocking the shit, but not for buying them. For instance, in Bayonetta, I unlocked the Climax Bracelet BEFORE I collected the required 101 Umbran Tears of Blood, which are found all over in playthroughs of Normal, Hard and NSIC Difficulties, and typically, you need to play through all three difficulties to get them. However, if you are patient, you can also grind for it by using the passcode system in the game. You need 5 million halos (which generally takes 5 playthroughs on any difficulty) and press the buttons in the right order at the right place in the actual town of Vigrid. Getting the Climax Bracelet early takes a nice load off your back when playing on the higher difficult settings. It's still challenging, but a lot less annoying. |

Here's an interesting article talking about five reasons why people are justified in pirating games: http://deadhorseinterchange.com/wordpress/?p=1083 While I disagree and don't really feel any reason here is justification for pirating games, it does outline all the big, inherent reasons as to why the industry is stagnating as a means to fuel the greed of publishers and developers. Considering the only digital gaming I've done is through WiiWare, I really had no idea about the whole "drive-by downloads" business and it sounds horrible. Glad I'm not a big fan of digital downloads I suppose. On that note, I can really see how The Sims was pretty much at the forefront of destroying expansion packs and championing DLC. |

Oh, just fuck you Gamestop. http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/cod_mw3/news/get_modern_warfare_3_for_99p_when_trading_battlefield_3.html The gist: (UK) Buy Battlefield from Gamestop before its release date of October 28th. Play it as long as you want until November 8th. Buy Modern Warfare before November 8th. Then, play both games as much as you want until November 18th. Here's the good part. Return Battlefield before the 18th. You get all your money refunded for the game, except for a 99 pence surcharge that goes directly into Gamestop's wallet. Result: EA gets dicked because players essentially get a 'full demo' of the game, and if they don't want it and they know they want Modern Warfare, then they can just basically hand the game back to Gamestop and let Gamestop still make money off of it. |

I wish my brawl still worked... I don't think I'd stand a chance in a tournament with pro players anyway. And even besides that, Nintendo's internet connection was plain shit. |

There are two divisions; pro and amateur. The latter is for people there to have fun, while the former is there for those crazies who make constricting rules for themselves and such. |

It'd be great if they listed a time, since I've got to go in for a surgical procedure either that day or the day before...and then there's school...and I have a road trip to plan for... |

Agreed, I have clinics in the evening, so unless this takes place after that, I won't be able to participate. |

Right here:![]() And just for good measure: ![]() EDIT: L.A. Noire Complete Edition, All DLC included, 49.99 USD for PC, 360 and PS3 So, one of the more unique sandbox games in existence is getting an "Ultimate Edition," a la Dragon Age: Origins. The thing is, you can get the game from GameStop new and get the Season Pass which gets you all the DLC for less; at least I did. And...it's called the complete edition. Oh, Rockstar.... Now, L.A. Noire is a good game, and the DLC is mainly new cases (some of which are very interesting, like one starting with a building blowing up gloriously), but why re-package this? Are they going to get rid of the Season Pass? That just may be. Edited by Arem, Oct 23 2011, 06:12 AM.

Looks like we're seeing more and more viable uses for videogames in the medical field these days. Makes you wonder whether BioWare should've stuck to their original business model or not... |

And then you sit down, asking yourself "how can gaming journalism make itself look any less credible and even more unprofessional than it already is?": http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=449885 Rushing through a game on the easy difficulty is fine and dandy for a reviewer who probably has a backlog of games to get to, but it's a short, downloadable game and considering one of his biggest complaints was longevity and few levels, he should've played on a higher difficulty to enhance the experience. It would not have taken him more than 2 hours to beat it on normal, you know, the difficulty that is set as the inherent AVERAGE for all games. The other issue is flat out LYING about it when confronted by the developer, then freakin' deleting incriminating parts of the article in response, probably with a smug "haha, look how awesome I am" expression on his face while doing it. I think the worst part is how on his "apology" page, FLOCKS of retards are backing him up and putting him on a pedestal like he was some kind of saint. I actually never browse IGN or look at reviews or anything, so I'm wondering, is this really the kind of attitude that today's generation of gamers have? Are they really so blind as to loyally follow some random guy on the internet who gives big scores to popular games because he was payed off by the publisher, then turns around and slags off a $10 downloadable title because he was too fucking lazy to play the game properly? |

Sad to say, I'm pretty sure IGN stopped caring about journalistic integrity a long time ago when they realized it was more efficient to troll for pageviews and ad revenue instead. |
