This would be a great opportunity for them to actually start making their own games, using the Harvest Moon name, as opposed to publishing someone else's work.
Judging from the article, that is literally what they are doing. They opened up a dev studio in Tokyo, told them to make a game and are now publishing it as Harvest Moon.

Personally, I don't like how they're using the Harvest Moon name for a completely different game than what has been Harvest Moon up to now. You're going to end up with people who buy Natsume's Harvest Moon, who don't know about the change, thinking that Story of Seasons is a rip-off, when SoS is the real Harvest Moon, just under a different name because Natsume.

Still, I think I prefer the Story of Seasons title more, as that's a more accurate translation of the game's Japanese name.

 Yeah, that's why I mentioned it. And yeah, it's going to get incredibly confusing for Western fans, especially those not in the know. Still, it's their name, they have full rights to it, so they should be able to use it as they please and will cash in on that fact to sell more games. The best people can hope for is spreading that knowledge through word of mouth, though I wouldn't want sales to be taken away from either franchise really, if everyone's doing a good job.

 In an effort to avoid offending certain peoples, BIT.TRIP developer studio Gaijin Games will henceforth be known as Choice Provisions. Titles that have already been released (Runner2 and everything before it) will still have Gaijin Games listed, as well as all future BIT.TRIP games, apparently. Everything else will have Choice's new name as the developer.

Despite the success of Mario Kart 8, Nintendo of Europe's headquarters in Großostheim, Germany has been closed, cutting 130 jobs in the process. The Großostheim division will be moved/merged into their offices in Frankfurt, which will become NoE's new HQ.

 I doubt software sales have anything to do with these redundancies. As far as Nintendo is concerned, whenever that happens a CEO usually cuts their own pay to compensate.
