Seriously, the Wii U, ON LAUNCH, should've just backported the entire Wii's VC/WiiWare library to give people more reason to make a complete switch over. There shouldn't BE a Wii mode, the system should've streamlined that shit instead. It's fucking ridiculous, especially considering people may have already invested a ton into the Wii's VC/WiiWare library and would've still had to jump through hoops to make the transfer, only to find out later that they're re-releasing everything on the Wii U's VC, with added features and, if you already owned the game, you'd still have to pony up some cash to get it. THIS is what Nintendo should've really gotten a proper grip on, as they've shown they have a decent grasp of digital distribution with a plethora of titles dating back to the dawn of time. It would've solidified something within the current generation that the other two seem to have been struggling with since the last gen, and that Sony has shown it is incredibly incompetent at dealing with, if you'll take into account the recent Vita fiasco. A full Wii VC/WiiWare library upgraded and enhanced in whatever way the Wii U's library is, plus new shit that never got released. Also, an integrated eShop system that links both the Wii U and 3DS, so that you can have your game on both consoles, and that purchases are tied to your account NOT YOUR SYSTEM. Seriously, you got something like Ducktales Remastered and decided hey, you wanna play it on the go, just fucking redownload that shit on your 3DS and enjoy your ass off.

This goes doubly so if you have a Club Nintendo account, as the games show up on your list. Why should I pay $0.01 or however miniscule amount they're charging for this crap when I already have the game and want the less headache inducing version? I mean, I'm fine switching between the Wii and Wii U, but it's not practical for people who have switched over completely.

Roguelikes scare me with all the trial-and-errorness. Or whatever. If it counts, I think the only roguelike I've played is Demon's Souls and that was only for a day, before I had to return it to the rental store I rented it from. Either way, I can't say that I'm not at least a little interested in giving FTL a shot... but I think I'd be prone to giving up within an hour out of despair.

BL;DR Posts: 3,493 Group: Elite Member #80 Joined: September 7, 2010	UT being mod-friendly is absolutely nothing new - even the 1999 original came with an inbuilt editor. What matters is whether there'll be a dedicated community around to support it. UT99 has an amazing amount of mod support that is still going on to this day, and UT2004 isn't all that far behind, but from what I experienced of UT3 too many people used it to make Total Conversions which ended up getting completely abandoned once UDK came out - there was almost nothing in the way of simple mutators and weapon/vehicle replacements that made the former two so versatile to play. Reading in a little more, they also genuinely expect people to pay to download mods, which... doesn't sound all that free to me, frankly.
