He also says that, due to the demand for Assassin's Creed games, it would "be stupid of them to not capitalise on that desire by shoving out a new game every year." This in the monetary form of greatness is great, but I'm sure it will dilute the play even more than it already is. And I'm also surprised it's taken them this long to say as much.

Guess what Bravely Default, a game that we were too lazy/scared to release in the US so Nintendo had to publish it for us, taught us? Everyone likes JRPG's, not just Japan! Yosuke Matsuda - the boss of Square Enix Due to having split [the development mindset] according to regions around the world, we weren't able to see this clearly up until now, but fans of JRPGs are really spread around the world. For the new games we'll be developing from this point on, while this may sound a bit extreme, we've been talking about making them as heavy JRPGs. I believe that way, we can better focus on our target, which will also bring better results. This guy wasn't about gaming, he was about trying to push a stereotype onto us that we're all trying to shake off. We are not fourty-year-old basement-dwellers, we do not subsist on Mountain Dew and Doritos alone, gamers and devs are not exclusively male, gender has jack shit to do with skill as anyone with more than two functioning brain cells can attest to, and no one likes being treated like shit. I'm seriously glad that this got spoken of, because these aren't the sort of lemons we ought to be making into lemonade. They got handed them, and promptly made people like Matti take them right back.

Since I know her from the great writings on Legacy of Kain and just recently from other Sony projects. This makes me feel a little hope for the Star Wars game series itself.
