I can understand why a company like Cave would fall apart, they're incredibly small, have released next to nothing over the past decade (the only thing that immediately comes to mind is Deathsmiles, and they were dumb enough to release that exclusively to the console where the key demographic wouldn't buy a game like that) and have lost a lot of staff over the years. They should've partnered up with another niche developer like NIS or Atlus to have better support for the kinds of games they make. Not only would they get more PR from a company that's more popular and well known for the kind of titles it produces, but they'd have some bank to make better games.

It's sad, but if they're just going to stick to mobile games, then we're not going to be missing out on much.

 Guy at Eurogamer says that the "problem" with Nintendo isn't Iwata, but Miyamoto. I'm kinda inclined to agree on some points. Miyamoto's been training new guys to make amazing new games, like he did himself in the past. What are those new prospects doing? Making more fucking Mario games.
