 Games for Windows Live is ending next year. Which you'd ordinarily think would be good news, but games that supported it will virtually be taken to the grave with it - achievements will stop working, you'll no longer be able to play online, and games that require it to activate will no longer be playable at all. Dark Souls is one of those games, just for reference.

I fucking warned you guys this would start happening.

 Dark Souls is still a top-played game on Steam. Hopefully the devs will have a heart and find out some way to transfer their netcode to work on steamworks instead.

 I wonder just how many people will actually come up with a decent password after this. Not surprising in the slightest though that this has happened :\. Their account security is pretty lax (to say the least) and it's something people have been (and will continue to) complain about until it's actually improved. They've been working on this for a bit and will soon be adding it onto the PBE (Public Beta Env.) server for testing before going onto the live client.

On another note: Good job Mike Tyson, maybe now he can go on to beat the next boxer/character in a few years (or instantly if he got the hang of it)! I never expected him to have trouble beating the first character in Punch-Out. Then again if Tyson is to be believed, he is in fact a (very) late bloomer.

On another-nother note: And with regards to the player-base being so terrorizing for developers... I'm not one for raging in a game or at my teammates (I see it happen to much in games like LoL and it's fucking sickening) but they have to realize how to deal with this negativity (not saying they aren't, just seems like they're a bit clueless or something). Death threats to people on a game is fucked up and has no right to be there (keyboard-crusaders want to get a stiffy too often nowadays, and maybe we'll all find a Curtis Woodhouse who will put them in place hopefully) but they need to try and ignore this junk and focus on the actual criticism of the game(s) they're making/improving. There will never be an end to this (as much as I or the developers wish of it). That's why they need to thicken their skin and only take notice of the comments that involve actual/constructive criticism. Just like in the real world, the approach/presentation of these things is what matters and will help others notice the other perspective. Some developers though do seem to not care about the criticism they receive and have a "deal with it" mentality, no matter how much they try and deny it, it's there (not every developer is like this, but the ones who are will be noticed obviously). I guess some developers do not want to backtrack on something they worked on (the case of the Star Wars MMO), but they have to realize that some things just do not work out the way they want/intended it to. If all game developers are going to get scared of the player-base though, then I expect more people to end up being like Mr. Fish in the end (and create a cycle).

We still need developers to realize what a foolish move it is to exclude over 3 million gamers from being able to enjoy their products.

 I'm not sure I consider Deus Ex's offscreen functions a point in the competitor's favour when it both means I have to buy a several hundred dollar paperweight to use them, and I need to drop my existing controller when I have to use them.

Nonetheless I'm sure they'll fail to notice the hypocricy of pricing the WiiU version a full 20 bucks higher than the rest when they claim it's not selling enough.
