Gotta love 'murca, with people suing left and right for the most bullshit reasons. Anyone buying a used game should automatically assume that the previous owner exhausted whatever one time use codes came with it and should fully expect to pay for that content online anyway. If they have issue with this, they should've bought it new or scrounged up the codes off of eBay or something. Now, the only reason this lawsuit should go through would be if Gamestop's pricing of the used games was criminally high and they needed to be taken down a peg.

FYI Gamestop have been caught removing digital content codes from brand new games before too, so either way they still had this coming.

It was, they were putting used games at around 5-9 bucks cheaper than the new copies, then advertising the used game as "savings" but you ended up paying more than the new game for the features.

Oh and GS would be surprisingly quiet in mentioning the codes existed

As suspicious as all that is (and it is, I'm pretty sure the guy who said they kept a fuckton of unsealed copies for this occasion was telling the truth), they kinda have every right to do so. NOA was not even willing to bring this game to North America and wouldn't have done so without Gamestop, which granted them partial exclusivity to sell the game. It's, technically, THEIR game, and they have every right to sell it at whatever price they want. At the end of the day, as expensive as it is, there are used copies going for $130 on the internet, so for people who didn't get the game, they'd essentially be getting an (allegedly) brand new copy of a limited title for $90, which is what they'd pay for any other limited edition title.

I mean, fuck Gamestop for squandering a chance to be Good Guy Greg on this and win back the gaming crowd they've been effectively fucking over for like, half a decade, but hey, their loss.

For some reason, I'm also not dismissing the possibility that the plaintiffs in question aren't very bright, and may simply have not been listening. I mean, stupider lawsuits have happened because people were airheads. Sad thing is, they win.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

I dunno about books, but around here we've got these sort of gaming youth centers where people pay a fee and can hang out and play video games and stuff.

And what 12-year-old hasn't played Call of Duty? [has barred himself from the online purely for that reason.]

So to continue my terrible luck when it comes to pre-ordering games, Activision decided to announce a "Dark Edition" for Skylanders SWAP Force (not even a full day after I pre-ordered it), which comes with 5 "Dark" Skylanders as opposed to just three normal ones. Went to EB Games today to switch my Wii U pre-order to said editon, only to discover that, in true AAA dev fashion, it's not coming to the Wii U or the 3DS. Only PS3, 360 and Wii.

EDIT: Upon checking GameStop's US site, it turns out that the lack of a Wii U version here is just the latest in Activision's "NO WII U GAMES FOR AUSTRALIA" trend. Naturally, now I'm even more pissed off than I was earlier.

And every 12 year old has met my mother, hell it took that sitcom like 9 years to do that!

Also Luffy: God hates Aussies, come to Merica.

(No Morning News today, it's slow.)
