An explosion had occurred just around the next building, and of course, Patrick dashed towards it. He stopped as he saw debris laying on the ground, looking as if it all was blasted out of the alley and into the streets. Shania spaced out for a moment before realizing that Patrick ran off. She caught up to him after seeing him pause at the corner of a building. "Find it bro?" Patrick didn't respond as walked over to the alleyway for a peak of what was going on. To Patrick's surprise it was the person with the mechanical arm fighting a young girl about the age of his girlfriend, Fasha. Three dead bodies lay close to the young girl's feet with blood covering the floor, walls, and her hands. "What's going on in there that is so cool that you won't answer me" Shania hovered over to look into the alleyway directly and was grossed out from the bloody scene. "EEEWWW" Shania had the look of horror on her face as she reversed and ran into Patrick. He turned to face his sister, Shania's scream probably caught their attention which he didn't want. "Would you keep it down? I have reasons that I don't respond to every comment you make." The man shot a few rounds of energy from his mechanical arm. Patrick peaked around the corner to watch and figure out who was the murderer here. Patrick never wanted to jump to conclusions and join sides immediately, he would wait and see. Shania pulled out her Kitty Klaws and slipped the gloves on and waited for Pat to say something. She knew his body language by now, it only took her about 13 times to understand his actions. |

"And that's basically all there is to it. I'm only off when they need me, so I really haven't skipped much school." Erik reclined his body, sinking into the pleather padding of the chair he was sitting on as he sipped the green tea from his cup. Marie sat behind her desk, nodding as she took in what he said. "Do you do anything dangerous?" He snorted in response, knowing full well she was baiting him into a lecture that he had no hope of escaping. "Mom, it's the military, what did you expect? Yes I do dangerous work, but it's really not that much different from what I do here in the city." The truth was, it was probably more dangerous. Beating up muggers and stopping bank robbers was one thing. Infiltrating a terrorist camp used for stealing and modifying state of the art weaponry was another issue entirely. "And that's another thing...why are you constantly putting yourself in danger? Honey, are you some kind of thrillseaker? An adrenaline junkie?" He rolled his eyes at the comment. If there was one thing Erik hated more than anything in the world, it was engaging in a conversation about himself. "Mom, I do what I can to help people. I've been given a gift, an opportunity to make a difference. It's not like it's affecting my studies or my lifestyle or anything, plus it's something I choose to do. You're just going to have to deal with that, because I think I'm old enough to make my own decisions now." "I know dear, but I worry about you. There's no need for you to shoulder the weight of the world. Don't go crazy out there." He nodded, aprehensively because he knew she had no idea what she was talking about. Mothers worried. They also nagged and doted on their children and while Erik had outgrown being a teenager, he still had a bit of a rebellious streak, which might have had something to do with being brought up in this place. He took another sip of his tea, breathing in the cool air being filtered through the airconditioning. "So anyway, what's been going on around here?" "Oh, nothing much, it's a lot like you left it. Actually, you just reminded me; we're taking the kids out to see the carnival that just came into town. Maybe you'd like to come along? I think it'll be fun." "Carnival eh? I dunno, I guess...I mean it's not like I have anything better to do." "Wonderful. I should introduce you to the children. You're actually a local hero to them around here." Erik cocked an eyebrow, his eyes going wide for a moment. "I...don't even know what to make of that." |

Marriane smiled at the mention of their act, especially at the mention of bikinis. "Oh wow that sounds great, especially Ethaniel and I getting front row seats. Right Ethaniel?" He looked up from the menus in his hands. He gave the notion some serious thought. He already felt like a pedo considering that he's old enough to be someone's ANCESTOR and might end up getting all...touchy feely with how Madelyn treats him. Of course he couldn't logically say no to someone like Madelyn that WANTS him there.... "Sure. It'll be enjoyable." Marianne smiled and nudged Ethaniel while giving her trademark sly smile. "Well looks like lover boy's decided~" He glared at Marianne just as Bertha came over with drinks. "If you keep making that face it'll end up sticking." She gave a small laugh as she set steaming mugs of coffee infront of Ethaniel and Marianne. She set glasses of iced tea in front of the twins though. She honestly couldn't give the youngsters coffee when they still need to grow, right? "I'll be back in another minute so you folks actually have a chance to decide what you want to eat." "Actually Bertha, the coffee will be all I need for today." Marianne gave a small smile, to dissuade questioning on the issue. Bertha looked rather surprised upon hearing Marianne. "Well...if you're sure honey." with that she went back to the counter in order to tend to another customer. Ethaniel gave a sideways glance at Marianne before turning back to his menu. "So when were you going to tell me that the you that's been annoying me all day is actually a golem you are acting through?" Marianne stared in disbelief at the sharkman. She had no idea that the brute could be so attentitive. "H-how?! I took all the precautions..." He looked at her with a bored expression. "You never turn down food unless you're acting through a golem." There was a somewhat tense moment where they just stared at each other, Marianne bewildered and Ethaniel bored. She then slapped him. "Are you calling me a pig you worthless son of a bitch?!" Ethaniel didn't seem to notice the slap at all, as he continued staring at her. In fact he had to poke his own cheek to actually take note of any pain. "...'K so are you actually going to be at the carnival?" She huffed and continued to glare daggers at Ethaniel. "...Yeah sure whatever." "Cool." His attention went back to the menu. "So Madelyn, you ready to order? Don't worry about holding back, I'll pay for it regardless. Of THAT I'm sure..." He gave Marianne a suspicious sideways glance. She responded by smiling and batting her eyelashes innocently. Fucking sly bitch. |

"You're no ordinary girl, are you?" the man said, a smile forming on his face despite the circumstances. If there was ever any doubt that he wanted to do her harm, it was erased the moment that look crossed his lips, evidence that he would rather fight her than leave her alone. "That was a killing blow right there. I really didn't want to do this, but you're not giving me much of a choice." Finishing up his speech, he took aim at the innocent demoness, letting loose a few spheres of energy at her. Eyes widening slightly at their speed, she attempted to sidestep the attack, one of the energy balls striking her on the forearm. A burning sensation overtook the spot, but she ignored it, her anger at this new attacker evident in her expression; eyes narrowed more than they had yet, a scowl forming. She took a few steps closer, breathing heavily despite not having done anything tiresome. She had to deal with this threat now, before he had a chance to become truly problematic. "You could have ran away, and left me alone!" Lynness shouted, the darkness still swirling around her. "But no, you can't leave a poor girl alone, can you?!" Rage still swelling, she lifted her right arm into the air, gathering darkness around her hand. "Well, if you can't let me be, then I'll just have to make sure you never get the chance to hurt me again! I'm going to enjoy this." Her expression changed to one of malicious joy, her scowl twisting into a vicious smile as her eyes locked with her opponent. Whatever his reasons for attacking her were, they weren't going to go unpunished. Her maddened grin only widening as she did so, Lynness brought her arm down, a portion of her darkness lurching forward with violent speed, shaping itself into a five-foot tall blade-edged crescent, the girl's intent to cut down her opponent with an attack to large too big to just deflect. The darkness she still had sitting around her would assure that she could properly counter whatever attack he chose to throw at her next, whatever that may be. * * * * * "Oh wow that sounds great, especially Ethaniel and I getting front row seats. Right Ethaniel?" Marianne asked Ethaniel, a smile on her face. Emilyn and Madelyn chose to wait for Ethaniel's response, the latter with a hopeful look on her face. After a moment, he gave his response: "Sure. It'll be enjoyable." Madelyn smiled as he made his decision, clearly glad that he'd made the choice that he did. Of course, she tried her best to hide the fact, watching on as Marianne chose to tease the humanoid, his own glare returned in response. She didn't get a chance to say anything before the waitress returned, drinks in hand. She distributed them to everyone before stating that she'd return shortly to actually take their orders. Emilyn nodded at the woman, though Madelyn was barely paying attention and didn't acknowledge her. She took a sip from her drink as the woman walked away, having finished talking to Mary, before a frown spread across her face. "Tea? Ewe, it's so bitter though..." "You really shouldn't complain, princess;" Emilyn responded, taking a gulp from her own glass before setting it down. "You should just be grateful that you're being treated to a better lunch than you would have had otherwise. I'm sure not complaining. "I suppose that's true." Madelyn remarked while nodding, smiling a little. Neither of the twins noticed the back and forth chatting between Marianne and Ethaniel, which they could probably be grateful for considering they wouldn't know what was being talked about anyways. Their attention was suddenly caught when Marianne slapped him. "Are you calling me a pig you worthless son of a bitch?!" The girls stared on with slight shock, wondering the reaction she'd receive for what she'd just done. However, Ethaniel didn't pay it much attention at all. Instead, their conversation going on for another minute. Finally, Ethaniel turned his attention back to Madelyn, catching the young lady off guard. "So Madelyn, you ready to order? Don't worry about holding back, I'll pay for it regardless. Of THAT I'm sure..." Madelyn nodded shyly, setting her own menu down. "Yeah, I just want some chicken strips and french fries...and maybe some Sprite, to get the flavor of tea out of my mouth. "Always picky, eh?" Emilyn remarked, setting her own menu down. "I'll just have a burger and fries, but the tea's fine with me. "You know..." Madelyn began, her gaze fixating on Ethaniel, "you don't have to spend your money on us. We can afford our own meal, and I'd hate if you had to go through the trouble when it seems like you don't really want to..." She finished with a sigh, frowning slightly. * * * * * "Micah, Mark said that everyone has been set up. Someone even went through the trouble of setting up the tent for our two little deviants." "Excellent, Esika." Micah responded, a small smile on his face. "Tell everyone to be ready, and have some free hand go mind the admission box." "Very well" she responded, walking away. Micah stood, looking toward the city, his smile widening slight. "The Carnival has begun." Edited by Eternally Fallen, Aug 4 2011, 11:32 PM.

"Don't take it so personally," Sooku replied, idly charging an energy beam as he waited for the girl to make her next move. Judging by her seemingly erratic nature, he was expecting it to be similar to the first, which would be easy to dodge with a beam-powered sidestep. As Lynness brought her arm down, Sooku raised his in tandem. Both attacks went off, the man leaping forward and to the right, and the demoness releasing a giant blade of dark energy. It was significantly larger than what he had anticipated. There was absolutely no way to dodge the entire thing; he pulled his body rightward as quickly as possible, but still felt the blade graze across his left leg. It hadn't sliced far enough to draw much blood, but it did leave a large gash in his pants. "It's not that I want to hurt you. It's just that I can't let you keep running around town killing people. I'd feel pretty guilty letting that happen, y'know?" There was no reason to let the girl think that he was even remotely surprised by her attack; he was still hopeful that proper intimidation could end their encounter before things got too much uglier. He broke out into a sprint towards the demoness, raising his robotic arm and smashing it at her stomach, extending his metal fist at the last second for some extra oomph. Knocking the wind out of her might serve to slow her assault. |

Ethaniel nodded when the girls told him what they wanted. He looked at Madelyn as she spoke and... That little frown...was just...too cute~ "Uh...Y-yeah, I'll keep that in mind. But no need to worry, I kinda feel like it." Marianne raised a brow then snickered. "Ethaniel and Madelyn, sitting in a tree~ K-I-S-S-I...n..." She slowly stopped when she saw Ethaniel turn towards her. His face had an indescribable expression...something between the fury of a thousand storms and a physical manifestation of killing intent. Suffice it to say, he mad. He very mad. She softly cleared her throat and looked down at the table, pretending that she didn't say anything at all. "So...let's talk about football! How 'bout those Packers?" She was trying to derail the conversation to something else. This was understandable, considering that pushing Ethaniel too far could have horrible consequences and most certianly not the kinky kind. She was saved from any potential beatings by Bertha walking over, notepad in hand. "Alright folks, we ready to order?" Ethaniel straightened out his expression before facing Bertha. As he rattled off the twin's orders, her made sure to indicate who wanted what. "My friend over there would like chicken fingers, some fries and a sprite. Her sister wants a burger and fries. I'll have the usual." Bertha nodded as she wrote down the orders and gave everyone a charming smile. Your food will be ready in a few minutes darlings." She then collected the menus before walking off to give the orders to the chef. Ethaniel took a long drink of his tea. Given that he normally only drinks water and alcohol, sweet tea was a nice change of pace for him. "So Madelyn, which mall where you and your sister planning on going to? There's...about two or three I think." |

Lynness smiled contently, satisfied to see that her attack had managed to hit, even if it hadn't actually done any damage to the target. Her matter rippled as it passed it's target, fading from existence to reappear one again surrounding her, moving like a violent storm cloud. With a flick of her wrist, portions of the roiling matter tore away from the larger mass, forming into densely packed projectiles. The girl grinned again as he spoke up again. "It's not that I want to hurt you. It's just that I can't let you keep running around town killing people. I'd feel pretty guilty letting that happen, y'know?" "Of course, because the lives of people like these guys are worth so much more than that of a girl whose done nothing wrong." she yelled out, her expression shifting between unnatural and over-enthusiastic joy to rage. "I don't care for your hypocrisy. It's unfair, and I'm not gonna stand for it!" At the end of the statement, her expression changed again, her malevolent grin returning. With a thought, she flung the unknowingly explosive projectiles toward her target, charging after them as she did so. The darkness that she'd left untouched until now began gathering around her right arm. "I'm going to kill you." Grinning wider than she had yet thus far, the girl took aim, a torrent of matter launching toward Sooku. * * * * * "Ethaniel and Madelyn, sitting in a tree~ K-I-S-S-I...n..." "D-d-don't say that!!" Madelyn stammered, her jaw hanging open at what Marianne had said. At seeing Ethaniel's expression, the woman trailed off; however, the damage had already been done. Madelyn lowered her head to hide her face in her arms, blushing furiously, eyes slightly wet with tears. She did her best to hide her embarrassment, but it was evident even with her covering her face. Emilyn couldn't help but sigh at the turn of events. She allowed herself to nod when he read off what everyone wanted, before turning her attention back to the group. "Sorry about her getting like that. She's kind of shy as it is...But anyways. We've never been in the town before today, so as far as malls go, the bigger the better." "This is so unfair." Madelyn muttered, her face still buried in her arms. "I'm going to kill you." If Sooku had more time on his hands, he would have chuckled at her comment. She was strong, sure, but not the least bit subtle. She had formed her dark energy projectiles well before she was ready to throw them, giving him plenty of time to stop and block. He skidded to a halt less than 10 feet from the girl, taking care not to slip in the unsavory red slick that had since covered most of the alley, and brought up his metallic appendage. His mouth opened, about to chide the demoness further, when... BAM! The impact was quite literally explosive. His improperly braced stance was thrown completely off balance, arm shooting up and body stumbling leftward to slam into the brick wall of an adjacent building. He turned immediately upon contact with the hard surface to face the girl once more. "You're making this much more difficult than it needs to be," he grunted, extending his flamethrower, and blasting a short plume of fire in between him and the girl. The flames weren't really strong enough to reach her; instead, he launched himself off the wall and through the burst for an attempt at a buster smash. In the best case, the fire would distract Lynness so she wouldn't see his attack coming; in the worst, he would at least have his arm in front of him already. |

Erik had excused himself earlier to head to the bathroom, especially after deciding on joining the orphans on the trip to the carnival. It was going to be a long day and he didn't want anything hindering whatever potential fun he might have. He told Marie he would meet her at the buses, since he knew they would be parked out in front of the main entrance. Once he was done relieving himself, he washed his hands and headed out the orphanage, taking in a deep breath of fresh air as he pushed open the main doors. He walked down the steps towards the buses, noting that the children were already there and were being loaded up. Marie looked up and took notice of him walking towards the group, motioning for him to get closer. "Hey kids, I want you all to meet someone. This is Erik, and he'll be joining us on our trip." The kids suddenly stopped everything they were doing, turning their attention towards him, wide eyed and mouths agape. There were at least sixty children, ages ranging between 8 and 14, all gathered around the two buses. They suddenly began crowding around him, some pulling at his jeans. "Oh man, oh man, you're the guy on TV!" "Yeah guys, it's Pee Doubleyou!" "Pee what? Oh yeah, the general public had that name for me. Psycho something..." "Yeah man, you ROCK! You gotta show me some of your moves!" Erik was, to say the least, a little overwhelmed. He wasn't expecting anything like this, even when Marie had told him he was a popular with the children. He figured it might involve his exploits back when he was living in the orphanage, not his current career as a local superhero. He had mixed emotions, partially embarassed by all the attention and partially swelling up with pride. "Wow...uh sure, maybe later. Wow...I take it you guys watch a lot of TV? I didn't know I had such a big fanbase." He smiled, not sure how to respond to all this. At this point, Marie started herding them into the buses, stating that they needed to be on the road to make it to the carnival in time. He hopped on one of the buses, taking a seat by the door as the kids continued pelting him with inquiries. He happily answered them to the best of his ability as the bus headed out, on it's way to the city. |

((Late post is late. D: )) Ethaniel frowned and scratched the back of his neck when he saw Madelyn crying. He's never dealt with a situation like this before, and facing sad kids usually turns out badly whenever he opens his mouth. He turned to glare at Marianne. "All because the second oldest adult at this table is too fucking immature." Marianne gaped like a large fish suddenly pulled form the water a few times at that, clearly at a loss for a good excuse. "I...I thought it'd be funny... "Ha...ha...ha. Hilarious, bitch." He crossed his arms and gave a huff. Honestly...what is wrong with this woman? Did she grow up wrong, or did she get spoiled a little too much? After a short moment he reached across the table to put a comforting hand and Madelyn's shoulder. He couldn't think of anything to say, but his gaze did soften considerably. The fact that the expression of a man who can stare at babies and adorable kittens without letting out a single "d'aaaaww" had softened for a crying girl should mean far, far more than anything nice he could have to say. |

((Sorry for being late, guys.)) The girl's mouth opened slightly as the projectile detonated against the man's metallic arm, a small plume of bright pink flames flashing upward into the air and the force of the explosion throwing him into the brick walling nearby. She had expected the attack to be forceful, but couldn't have predicted that such a favorable outcome would occur. If the guy had any time to see her expression between reacting to her attacks, he would notice that the blast had surprised her perhaps even more than it had him. She wasn't given a long time to celebrate, though; he was already on the attack again, a jet of fire moving in her direction. With a thought, some of the dark matter around her flowed forth, blocking the flames and any hopes he'd have of clubbing her with his metal appendage. Instead, she ran around the barrier passed Sooku as he moved forth, leaving shield up as she moved by him. With a push of her will, the wall began to ripple, spikes erupting from its surface toward her target. Their range would only be a foot and a half, and as soon as they halted the matter would vanish and reappear around her. After all, she couldn't afford to be defenseless for too long with such an unpredictable opponent. His arm was troubling. Not only had she not managed to inflict any damage on the limb, but it apparently had multiple functions. It was hard to tell if he had any other potential weapons hidden up his figurative sleeves, and Lynness didn't want to be exposed if he revealed a new attack. As she halted ten feet passed Sooku, Lynness spun around on her heels, her smile gone. "So what's your name? I'd like to know what name to carve into your tombstone." * * * * * Emilyn listened at the exchange of words between Ethaniel and Marianne, frowning at the whole situation. Whereas Madelyn was upset by the whole thing, Emilyn had found it slightly amusing; so what if it was immature, it was all in good fun. Not like Marianne could have predicted that the twin with the crush would cry at a little innocent teasing. She looked at her sister for a moment, and while she couldn't help but feel a little sorry for her sibling, she wouldn't coddle her like some child. "Hey Mary, you don't have to feel too bad about what happened. Like I said, she's shy as it is, and this definitely wouldn't be the first time she's gotten so embarrassed over her feelings. But anyways, we were talking about malls...? Do you know any good ones around here?" While Emilyn tried to continue on conversing with Marianne, Madelyn continued silently weeping, until she felt a hand grasp her shoulder comfortingly. She allowed herself another moment of crying before lifting her head just enough to glance up at the one trying to comfort her. Ethaniel's expression was almost enough to bring her more tears, but she resisted the urge, wiping her eyes with a napkin with a sniffle before sitting back up properly, a small smile on her face. "Sorry about this. I didn't mean to get like that...I must be a wreck or something." Her face was still red, though this time it was only half blushing, her crying session responsible for some of the color on her cheeks. "I'll be fine. But thanks..." * * * * * Esika sat at the ticket booth, barely paying attention to the people she was taking money from before giving them an admission ticket for the day. No, her mind was on other things, and it showed in her expression; slight frown, eyes gazing slightly downward, hardly any response to others unless they directly questioned her. She had been hoping somebody else would have been available to do ticket duty so she could just stand around for what they called "security", free to not worry about anything unless something especially bad was going down. It was almost a relief that they had arrived, it was the end of a long journey. She'd first met Micah three years ago, when the Carnival was just a small traveling circus, no real amusement beyond the main tent acts, no rides or games to speak of at all. It was only by chance that he'd recognized her for what she was; she was the very last person to pay her way in, at nearly ten at night. Even that wasn't enough to prove anything, but he'd caught a glimpse of her eyes, once she took her sunglasses off to better see the show. She'd been fascinated by the acts, which were clearly the real thing instead of just some flashy faked show. As she'd gone to leave, Micah approached her, and offered her the freedom to go out during the day without the fear of death, in exchange for her services. She hadn't realize what she'd gotten herself into before, but the idea of being able to go out with the sun hanging in the sky was too much for her to turn down. She eagerly accepted his offer, and through some obscure magic she was granted protection from the light of day. She eventually came to despise the services Micah required. Esika had been forced to recruit people that she knew would later be sacrificed for the ringmaster's cause, kill off anyone that got too close to discovering the truth or merely posed as an obstacle. It went without saying that the vampiress was sick of her job; she was ready to leave, she just needed a push in the right direction. Edited by Eternally Fallen, Aug 4 2011, 11:34 PM.

Sooku frowned as he cleared the flames. What had been intended as a trick had completely backfired, the girl setting up a counter-trap of her own. The trap itself wasn't worrying; it was simple enough to escape the spikes by using his already forward buster for a backwards push. Still, he was tired of stumbling about after every of the girl's moves. It was obvious that he wasn't intimidating her at all, and her attacks were getting far too dangerous to keep going easy for much longer. "The name's Sooku. I'd say it's a pleasure to meet you, but under these circumstances, I'm afraid that just isn't true. Too much death for my tastes," the man replied, trying his best to turn his backwards stumble into a smooth turn. "Y'know, I've been trying to hold back, but I really don't think I can keep it up. Think we could take a chance to talk things over before we reach the point of no return?" He was pretty sure what her answer would be, but there was always the slim chance of ending it early. Besides, even if she did ignore him and attack, the energy beam he had begun charging as he turned might just do the job. |

The ride was smooth and Erik was warming up to the children along the way. He did a few tricks for them using his energy manipulation, but after a while, they had finally gotten tired and decided to play some games. It gave Erik a chance to get a breather as he only piped in every once in a while. The trip had lasted less than an hour, but it felt a lot longer for some reason and Erik was glad he could get out and stretch his legs. He hopped off the steps and stood in front of the bus, yawning as he looked over the carnival. The nuns went about coralling the children and putting them into groups, while the older kids were given the opportunity to wander around at their own leisure, as long as they were back by 10 pm. He smiled at that, knowing teenagers needed their own space and was glad the Marie understood that better than anyone when it came to raising these kids. "That goes double for you Erik." "Eh? Oh I'll be fine, plus I live relatively close to here so you don't have to wait around for me. Besides, I don't really know how long I'll stick around here..." "Oh that's right. Well then, just try to relax and enjoy yourself." "Don't I always?" He smiled before heading in himself. This was probably only the second time he had actually been to a carnival and he was too young to really get as much as he could out of his first time. He began casually walking around, checking out the various booth to see if anything caught his interest. "Hey, you know, I always wanted to try this." He stepped up to one of the game booths where he had to throw a ball and knock over some bottles. There was a couple in front of him that was going for it, the man missing some of the bottles. "Awwww, better luck next time sir." This prompted Erik to take his turn. "So uh...what do I win if I hit all the bottles?" The attendant smiled and pointed at a rather large stuffed fox hanging up. Cute...it had to be a fox. I guess the kids'll go for it or something. He nodded as he grabbed a nearby ball. He focussed a little, his senses registering subtle changes in the atmosphere and windspeed as his brain made all the calculations. When he was ready, he threw the ball at the right angle, hitting two of the lower bottles, which caused the rest to topple over and knock down any remaining ones. "Heheh, I didn't know I had it in me." "Congratulations sir, here's your prize. Enjoy the rest of the carnival." The man handed him the stuffed fox, Erik taking it as he continued exploring the rest of the place. |

Ethaniel nodded, not really sure about what else he could do or say to her. ...Was it just him or was Madelyn freaking adorable? Seriously, he had this sudden urge to hug her, right now. He controlled himself though and took a sip of his tea instead. Marianne, on the other hand, was very happy to talk to someone that wouldn't plow a hole in her chest with a single punch. "Eh, well I feel bad when people cry in general...unless it's delicious tears of rage or hopelessness~" She was...a little too chipper about that statement.... "But right, malls. Hmmm... There's a really big one not to far from here. It's a little out of the way from where I live though, so I only go there when I need new lingerie, since there's a really cute store in there that sells the kind of stuff I like. For your purposes, you should be able to find most, if not everything, you need." She nodded to herself, as though making sure everything she said was correct. At that moment, Bertha walked over to them, and placed a glass of sprite in front of Madelyn. "Sorry 'bout taking so long with your drink honey. everyone's food will be ready in another minuet or so. Unless the stove breaks again. I honestly don't know what to do with that stubborn fool back there." She sighed and shook her head. "Anyway, it'll be another minuet. And Ethaniel stop being a heart breaker." She smiled cheerily before walking off to assist yet another customer. Ethaniel figured that she had seen Madelyn cry. He honestly didn't think anything about it...and then he considered that he'd have some 'splanin' to do. Which Marianne would probably want to do for him anyway.... |

"Oh, so now you insult me?" The demoness questioned, noting her failed tactic. The darkness swirled around the man in a fog, gathering back around her as she thought of what to do next. It was almost infuriating, this opponent. Not only had Sooku managed to survive against tactics where her first opponents had fallen with minimal effort, but at the same time he saw fit to poke fun at her, and act as if this was little more than a workout on his part. "Look, don't treat this as some game or me throwing a hissy fit, because I won't let my guard down like that." The girl stepped back, truly unsure of how to proceed. This Sooku guy kept acting as if he didn't want to hurt her, though fighting back at the same time as defending himself made it seem unlikely. She took another step away from the man, considering her options. At this point, she really just wanted to be far away from him; whether he lived or not was irrelevant if he wasn't near her to cause problems. "My name is Lynness. I'd say it wouldn't matter, but you're too much to handle right now. I...I don't even understand this. And until I learn more, I don't think I can eliminate you as a threat. I'll do whatever I want, though, and if you don't want me to end you, you'll do your best to avoid me seeing you ever again. Without warning, Lynness began descending into the shadow of the alleyway, the darkness cast by the building. She began to panic for a second, but quickly realized she wasn't in any danger. "If I find you again, you can consider yourself dead." Her crimson eyes locked onto Sooku until the moment the descended beneath the ground level, the girl vanished into the asphalt, the ground still wavered slightly for a second, as if it were a liquid instead of a solid that she'd vanished into. It quickly ended, though, eliminating any evidence of the her existence beyond the various bodies left behind in her wake. The girl found herself surprised to be propelled from the shadow of a fountain, slamming into cool tile in some strange place. Lynness merely sat motionless for a second, stunned by her violent eruption from the darkness, but the shock quickly disappeared and she pushed herself up. Though the place itself wasn't familiar, Lynness knew instinctively what type of building it was even without asking. "The mall... Lynness muttered under her breath as she gazed about, equal parts surprise and awe in her voice. * * * * * Esika was nearly bored to death handing out admission tickets in exchange for payment, but her attention was caught with a crowd of kids gathering about to gain entrance to what would be to them a veritable fun land. The group of nuns chaperoning the younger children about hinted at where they came from, though the young man accompanying the group stood out. After admitting them all to the park, the vampiress found someone else to work the ticket booth temporarily, following the guy into the park. she watched as he and the kids scattered, all going about doing whatever it was they wanted, the younger children kept in fairly tight groups by the older women watching over them. She was more interested in meeting with this young man that came in with them. She stalked him from a distance until he stopped at one of the game booths. Slowly approaching as he took his turn, she'd managed to be standing right behind him as he knocked the balls off the stand, winning his prize. As he began walking, Esika fell in line behind him, tapping his shoulder. "That was a nice shot." Esika said, smiling as she walked with him. "Sorry, I couldn't help but notice you coming in with that big group of kids." It was hard to tell how he might react to some stranger walking right up and trying to talk to him, but as long as she was on 'guard' duty, she only had to be within the confines of the carnival to be fulfilling her role. Even though the terms of her 'employment' would prevent her from talking openly with anyone else about what was really going on, she had to warn him away from the carnival before the real purpose of this traveling group was made apparent. "Oh, it seems as if I've forgotten my manners. My name is Esika, and I work here." * * * * * "It'll be fine Mary, my sister wasn't kidding when she said I get embarrassed easily. But like I said, I'll be fine. The girl sat in thought for a moment, before Bertha walked back up with her sprite. "Thank you very much." Madelyn replied as she gladly accepted her drink, smiling sweetly at the waitress before she walked away. It took a second before she really realized what she'd said to Ethaniel, at which point she couldn't help but blush a little bit more. She didn't let it affect her too much though, instead taking a sip from her drink. Meanwhile, Emilyn appeared happy enough as Marianne talked on about the mall situation. "Awesome" Emilyn said with a small, innocent grin, glad to have things working out so well. "So you said there's a nice lingerie store in that mall? That could be perfect! Maybe we could pick out new outfits for the show tonight. After all, we're gonna have a couple of special guests there watching us. Right sis? "Huh-? Madelyn question absentmindedly, barely registering what her sister said. As her words sunk in, however, her face lit up in cherry-red. "Y-y-yeah, I guess we could always use a new costume for the show..." The girl played with her straw absent-mindedly for a moment, attempting to dispell her renewed embarassment more effectively than last time. "So could we all go to the mall together after we finish eating? It could be alot of fun." Edited by Eternally Fallen, Aug 4 2011, 11:36 PM.
