I don't think that we can win over the hardcore, until we have something that they can put in their hands.

Spoken like someone who knows that the final product will please his audience. It also speaks out about how people are actually supposed to be buying this game for the gameplay, not for aesthetics. In all honesty, this just makes me want it more now.

And now that Polter raised his points about what made DMC so great, I think I'll add to it. DMC 1 had a fantastic weapon/combat system that was built upon in the second game. There wasn't this abundance of useless items or abilities like 3 and 4 did, it was simple and allowed for a decent amount of customisation. Why dumb down the game by having "styles" for the player to pick from? Why not let the player find their own mendium through experimentation and gameplay?

I think an ideal combat system would involve maybe having two different types of weapons the player can equip and having four or five weapons under each category. You'd have melee weapons and guns, and you'd be able to mix and match at your own pleasure. You want to wield two different types of guns? Maybe having a shotgun and a pair of handguns? Or how about a scythe and an assault rifle? It'll be all up to you, and with each combination comes a unique Devil Drive. Also, no more of this garbage "style" system implemented since the third game. Have a points based system where you buy upgrades and character skills, a bit like an RPG (or kinda like Metroid in that you gain new abilities as you continue playing). Why do I need to switch styles to be able to walk on walls and double jump? This should be an inherent skill my character should be able to do on their own. You'd also be able to use these points to upgrade weapons and Devil Drives too.

That being said, Polter is dead on about the game's difficulty. The third and fourth games were pathetically easy, even on the harder difficulties. They're nothing like the first two games, which did their damndest to rape you. We need that challenge back, this is essentially a beat 'em up, it's supposed to be abysmally hard, and I want to feel the burn in the morning.

All in all, I'll go back to my original statement; if they can deliver some kind of godly gameplay with this game, I will look past ALL design flaws. I will treat this game as a whole new standalone thing and enjoy it just as it is.

Yeah, I think I've changed my mind about the things I said above. The Main Events has a few things to say about Capcom and Devil May Cry:

Wow...just wow. Crapcom aims to disappoint.

(Also, some talk about Mortal Kombat's ban in Australia and DC Universe Online).

And that's why I'm not/never going to buy Devil May Cry 5. God bless that dude for preaching it to the world.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

The Main Event's a great guy, I love his videos, he gets really passionate but he's always saying what a gamer should be saying with regards to corporate vs customers. Anyway, I'm not one to knock on something before I've tried it but...yeah, this doesn't look so promising anymore. =/

It seems the only smart thing Capcom did was to have Ninja Theory come up with designs as that's their strong point--not to mention the only consistent part that gets good reviewing from reviewers for their otherwise lackluster games. Of course, that was up until a few months ago when we finally say Emosert-Dante.

Because this game isn't dead enough, there's always more fuel to slag it off with!

I don't know why they just don't shut this down and give everyone a piece of mind as well as save the boatloads of money they keep throwing at it.

Did you hear that? That was the sound of my head ramming into the floor at supersonic speeds in the biggest facefault in the world.

EDIT: I'm referring to Capcom and Ninja Theory by the way.

Another still in development video. It seems that they even redesigned Dante's face...again.

Oh yeah, the did that a while back to save face from the horrible design decisions they've made. On that note, if you managed to have missed it, he's also aparently half demon and half angel now.

Oh, I know about the crossbred shit, along with the alternate dimension shit. It's like West Side Story meets Devil May Cry, only without the awesome choreography.

The new face somehow manages to be worse. It looks so...generic and forgettable. At least the previous one had a bit of heart to it.

Also, that gameplay. I always thought Devil May Cry needed more platforming with incredibly stiff controls. Also lol at the giant FUCK YOU written on the ground.
