Posts: 4,950 Group: Elite Member #70 Joined: November 11, 2009	Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z (PS3) It's kinda hard to explain this, because they've scaled back quite a few things, but it actually works for this game. For example, you can't manually charge your SP/Ki this time around, you need to fight your enemies to charge it. Alternatively, your allies can use a universal ability called Spirit Share to boost your SP by a small amount, which doesn't degrade their own SP, so they can charge you up inifinitely. It's a good idea to Spirit Share anyone that runs out of SP completely, as they end up immobilised for a short period, until some of their SP is recharged. As a result, Super Attacks can't be used as much, but I think they may have gotten a buff in power as a result. Also, Ultimate Attacks are now limited to only 10 or so characters and need two things to be usable. First, the large ENERGY meter at the top needs to be completely filled and the characters that can use Ultimates need a one-use item called an Ultimate Jewel, which is unlocked in one of the mission and then costs 5000 Premium Points (PP) apiece, which is earned by partaking in an ENERGY Request, which happens at random when you complete missions. Once activated, it needs time to charge and it fails ~~if you either run out of SP to charge it with (so your allies need to regularly Spirit Share) or~~ if you are KO'd. I don't know for certain, but I imagine it's an instant win if it succeeds. Or just wipes out all enemies on the field that can be harmed if the mission is a multi-phase one. Again, I have no idea, as I haven't been able to buy an Ultimate Jewel yet. *EDIT: Successful Ultimate Charges are an instant win, as it literally wipes out everyone but* the user. Yes, even the allies. So it can only be activated during the final stretch of the mission.** Some of the other changes are stupidly pointless, though. Like the lack of local multiplayer. Aside from that, the main draw with the 4 vs. 4 battles is everything I've wanted in a DBZ game since Tenkaichi 2. So yea. Fucking awesome game. I've been enjoying the co-op battles since yesterday, since my sister got this for my birthday. When my Internet connection lets me, of course. Most of the games I play in are plagued with syncronisation issues. Goku's new Super Saiyan God form looks hella strange, though. He doesn't even look like a normal Super Saiyan here. His hair is in its normal non-SSGoku style, but full bright red. It's strange. Haven't unlocked him yet, but its not really spoileriffic, since he's on the boxart, the opening movie and the title screen, alongside the new bad guy. Also, in regards to the ENERGY Request thing, the main menu is accompanied by a fucking huge ball of energy and a number rating called "World Energy." It's completely maxed out and the number never goes down. I figured that it was also connected to the ENERGY meter and the Ultimate Attacks/Charges, but I haven't quite figured it out and I don't think I've ever seen the ENERGY meter influenced by the World Energy. Destiny of Spirits: Europe (PS Vita) Neat little downloadable game, actually. The game splits players into separate regions (the games themselves are also region split, with a version for Europe, America and Asia) with the spirits that can be obtained depending on either where and how far you've travelled using the Vita's location detection or what region game you have. So, similar Pokemon, it encourages trading spirits among each other. Naturally, when I hunted for a Spirit using my location... I found a bunyip spirit. The spirits are based on various global myths and stuff. Ending up playing this instead of Demon Gaze, whoops. My Vita needs to charge, so yea. Think I'll go play Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare now.

If you haven't tried it out yet, I definitely recommend it. Can't wait for EVO (and even CEO) this year, so many good games. If you wanna check out a great KI stream check out Grimmmz on Twitch.
