Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires (360)

*plays for about five hours before looking over the details of the game on the Dashboard*

What the hell? No multiplayer option at all? On that note, what the fuck is with the lack of local multiplayer lately? I was looking forward to playing Anarchy Reigns with my sister before finding out that the multiplayer is online-only. An aspect that is almost non-existant, since I haven't found anyone playing the game.

And of course, One Piece: Pirate Warriors has a notably reduced framerate in local play. I'm gonna be pissed if local multiplayer goes Wii U only.

PSN had some amazing demo choices yesterday. Metal Gear Solid Revengence and Dead Space 3!

MGS: R was really fun and pretty challenging.
DS3 was.... not scary. I think the scariness of the series has gone down each time.

Almost done with Far Cry 3 I think, the multi-player mode is pretty bad unfortunately. Laggy as hell.

Dead Space 3 demo was the exact same demo shown at E3...only shorter.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

Yeah I thought it looked familiar. I still need to try the multi-player part though.

Been playing Sonic Colors while on the train, almost done beating it.
It's pretty nice. Can't really complain on the gameplay, but the corny cut-scenes gave me diabetes.

Rendering the entire game world four seperate times isn't as easy a task as it sounds, so it comes as no surprise when there exist developers that either can't or aren't willing to sort out performance optimization for the fact (especially bearing in mind that this is Platnium's first multiplayer-enabled game, much less multiplayer-centric, unless memory fails me). Not everyone can really do it as good as, say, the Halo series when you get right down to it.

That being said that would be perfectly fine and all if they at least added a fucking LAN option to compensate. Not only does that shit reek of Microsoft milking people out of Gold passes, it just makes the game unviable in a tourney environment, which is something you should absolutely never do in a competitive fighting game. What's wrong with being able to play lag-free?

Wait, it's competitive? I thought Anarchy Reigns was a cooperative beat 'em up.

...you did see all the character-on-character fighting in the promo trailers, right? What on earth did you think the game was about? o.o

So anyway, I finished ZombiU and started again in the hardcore "one life" mode. I had a real nasty near-miss in Buckingham when I discovered the hidden coded door doesn't actually hide you from hordes for some reason, but other than that I've been doing pretty well so far. As of my last save I used up all my medkits and I'm running low on ammo for mostly everything bar my carbine, so if I'm gonna die it'll probably be soon.

Been trying to get into Scribblenauts Unlimited, but it's so unbelievably boring in the early stages that I'm reduced to terrorizing the population by using them as a sandbox for custom objects. This game better fucking pick up later on.

The closest to co-op I've seen for AR is survival/MAD survival, which is essentially hoard mode.

Still, I don't particularly mind. It's like a post-apocalyptic Power Stone. ;3

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record (PC)

Maybe it's just placebo, but it's hell of a lot more fun as Frank West. Also the Sandbox Mode is everything I've ever wanted from Dead Rising.
A desolate place, without any trace
It's only the cold wind I feel
It's me that I spite, as I stand up and fight
The only thing I know for real
There will be bloodshed!

Playing RE5 because psn+ has it on the free download list now. I played it before, just going down memory lane. Menu access still a pain in the ass? Check. Wesker stupidly not using his power to kill Chris asap? Check. Online partners greedy little bastards? Check. yup, back in #5. Not bad though, just gets progressively annoying.

Just FYI, you can use your D-pad to quick select any of your inventory slots in the four cardinal directions, so as long as you have top-bottom-left-right filled with guns and maybe a grenade or herb as a fallback it generally doesn't pose a problem. Naturally, the game doesn't actually tell you it's possible to do this.

Anyways, I finally finished The Nameless Mod. Thankfully it did start picking up later on in the game despite the unbearable amount of tl;dr especially early in the game, and I'd easily recommend at least one playthrough for anyone who's played and finished Deus Ex before. One thing I liked about this mod - the lack of which was something that really irked me in the original Deus Ex - is that the story branches fairly early on, so I'm already in a second playthrough to see the storylines and subplots I missed the first time. Funnily enough in hindsight I've discovered that it's possible to get a Dragon's Tooth nanosword within the first 30 mins or so if you're smart with your credits. 100 damage per swing is something that goes a long way.

My survivor in ZombiU came to a rather abrupt and anticlimactic end, on a downer note. I'd finally discovered a medkit and my ammo situation was starting to slowly improve (and by slowly, I mean "single shotgun shell at a time" slow). A zombie saw me crawl into a vent, and I tried setting a landmine behind me on the other side so I could do some worry-free looting when it basically exploded in my hands. Don't think I'll be using these in chases ever again.

Dead Space 3 (360)

Definitely more action-oriented, and even less scary than DS2 so far. However, I have yet to reach the actual planet of Tau Volantis or whatever it's spelled. I did notice however that the chapters were bumped from 13 or 14...to 19. Upgrading your suits is a bit more of a hassle after they ditched the Power Node system to the circuit and construction system, but I'll probably get used to it. Also, really digging the N7 Suit, which they affectionately called "The Shepard." They even go as far as to state it was created in honor of Earth fiction dating back to the 21st century. Couldn't upgrade the damn thing until Chapter 4 though. :|
