Yeah, considering that the news of Duke Nukem's revival was the #1 worldwide trending topic on Twitter for September 3, 2010, against the news of Hurricane Earl in the United States and the New Zealand Earthquake. It's just that big. Duke Nukem Forever is the popular sequel to Duke Nukem 3D. It's been in development hell since...oooh around 1997? Going through several engine changes, cutbacks and the eventually dissolution of the team behind the project. After going through a lawsuit from publisher Take-Two interractive, which was settled outside of court, and the game being handed over to another developer. Gearbox Studios, the people behind Borderlands are now handling the game, which could turn out to be pretty damn cool. I'm wondering if they'll work with the almost final version of the game 3D Realms had developed before it was disbanded. In any case, I provide you with some content...whatever people could get off of PAX, where DNF made it's first, official, public appearance. Master Posts: 342 Group: Elite Member #74 Joined: September 4, 2010	Now, I'm a HUGE Kingdom Hearts fanboy. But I have a lot of trouble justifying 3-5 year waits between games. I am now 18 with Birth by Sleep just around the corner, yet I first played Kingdom Hearts when it came out back in 2002. I was 10. But waiting over 12 years!? That's insane. I mean, I'm sure the game will be great and I'm actually really glad Gearbox took over but there is no way in hell this game will be able to justify 12 years - I will have started and completely finished my schooling life by the time this game is released. By no means will it be a shit game but 12 fucking years is unprecedented in gaming for a reason. New advances are made, new engines are needed to keep up and it has become obvious throughout the years that this is not a game that started from scratch and was built upon for 12 years but rather a game that just sorta floated around in limbo for a long time. This game will be awesome. But it won't be 12 years worth of awesome.
	Good Game Hex: Yes, you've read the book, you've seen the film - now avoid the game like the plague lest your memory of Harry Potter's epic conclusion be tainted by what can only be described as a short, half-arsed cover-shooter that's boring beyond belief. Bajo: ...It's shit.

It's become the butt of a lot of internet humor, hell even a few games have had a laugh at it's expense. Also Hammy, the reason it took 12 years was because the creators were insanely obsessed with keeping up to date. Everytime a new engine was available, they'd drop all their work on the game and start over on the new engine. Because of their unimaginable success on the original, they had plenty of money, and this is one example why developers publishing their own games because they have their own money went way too far to their heads.
