Okay, so I was wrong. Rumour has it that we're getting an official reveal of a new Sonic game next month. The highlights:

- Being made for basically fucking everything short of smartphones. Yes Psych, that includes the WiiU.
- They're still using Unleashed style, with Rush style for handhelds. So no different from normal in that respect.
- Ten playable characters. None of them are brand new.
- Multiple routes and exits between characters are apparently a focal point. Depending on how you play you might end up in a completely different stage altogether from your first playthrough. Think Shadow the Hedgehog's stage progression, minus the brain-rapingly stupid moral system and mission requirements.
- Twenty stages all up, excluding bosses. While the route you take through the game can vary, you will always finish up in the same final zone.
- Due to release sometime in the second half of the year.

Definently cautious about this, but I'm not gonna lie, any indication that Sonic Team's finally gotten over their one-character fetishism is welcome in my book.

In other non-Sonic news, Sega outbidded Zenimax at the THQ auction and bought Relic for 26.6 million dollars. Not the biggest fan of them to be honest (I loathe Darksiders), but hey, at least EA didn't get them. Now we just need to see where Volition goes to.

Volition is in good (read: Not EA) hands. ;3

Godamnit, I'm kind of getting sick of that already. I hope we can eventual go back to free roaming without a 06 on our hands.

Nice, more replayability.

Stages? I hope that doesn't translate into "acts", but even if it does, dividing that by 2 would be the normal amount, assuming there aren't 3 acts. Can't even remember what the usual is.

It'd be nice if they'd at least make some DLC for Sonic Generations though... I was hoping for something new from that.

Sounds promising...for a rumor. I'll believe it when there's a leak found by Sonic Retro.
A desolate place, without any trace
It's only the cold wind I feel
It's me that I spite, as I stand up and fight
The only thing I know for real
There will be bloodshed!

Darksiders is Vigil, not Relic. That aside, those rumours sound juicy. But I'm not buying it fully.

Does that mean nobody bought Darksiders?

Deep Silver is NOT good hands, they're a sub-par company the ekes out a living making shovelware and crappy cellphone ports for the DS and mediocre first person point and click adventure games using TV show licenses. I suppose it is better than being under EA, but they'd probably have trouble getting a good game out the door.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

Who knows, maybe at the end they'll give a hint to the next game.

Sega makes a Hedgehog Day post.

It's worth noting that random letters have been bolded for no real reason, spelling out "ernirehdgr". The quick-witted folks at SSMB already discovered it was an anagram for "Red Herring", so it's safe to say they're trolling the fanbase. XD

There's also some japanese livestream going on with a few notable Sonic names, including Iizuka, so if any actual Sonic news happens it'll probably come from that. I don't think there's much good in linking it directly considering few if any of you actually speak jap, but whatever.

The Sonic Team livestream doesn't happen until 4 PM tomorrow, in Australian time, so any Sonic stuff most likely won't be mentioned until then. Right now they should be talking about PSO2. I'd watch it, but Nico doesn't let anyone who doesn't have an account watch anything on their sites and I'm too lazy to register right now, if ever.

Oh yeah fuck, forgot about all that. My bad. I guess I'll just have to wake up tomorrow morning to the sight of either a pleasant surprise or an overhyped disappointment. I know there's always someone out there crazy enough to stay that long and do all the analysis for me, so it's all good. XD

So the Sonic Team section of SEGA's 24 hour livestream thing has been over for a good two hours by now and there doesn't appear to have been anything mentioned worth posting. I've only checked Sonic Stadium so far, so I'm gonna keep hunting.

Don't bother. The general gist I get from the boards is that the stream was a retrospective and not much more. Everything else is the usual retards who like to grasp at straws despite the aformentioned obvious trolling.

Oh well, back to square one, I guess.
