Well with the same last boss from Sonic 2 and Metal Sonic, it's more like Sonic 2 + what should have counted as 4 (Sonic CD was already basically Sonic 4 if you think about it).
Really it should be called Sonic 2 through 4 minus 3 probably technically 5.

Well, we all know it's been very loose continuity anyway. I mean, geez, I didn't even think Sonic and the Secret Rings was canon until Sonic himself said so in Generations.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

Oh, sounds like they're skipping it on the Wii this time... that's weird.

If anything, it's probably the same issue with the Sonic CD update. Too big for the WiiWare format's abysmal filesize limit.

That, or they just forgot to put the WiiWare logo or whatever in the trailer.

I sure as hell hope they forgot to put the logo. Fuck that, they give us one part of the game and skimp out on the rest? If that's the case, then give us one big disc release of the entire Sonic 4, all episodes. That's essentially the reason I haven't even bothered with Episode 1, because I know there'd be a chance they'd release the whole thing as a bundle, in one form or another.

They probably wouldn't want to mention the new physics in the trailer because... well that would be admitting that they failed on the first and that right there isn't very good marketing.
Because showing three seconds of gameplay - or hell, even just a preview of the ingame player model - as part of a teaser is clearly asking too much, amirite?

CD's filesize issues stemmed from the game using uncompressed, CD quality music from two seperate soundtrack localizations. I highly doubt many, if any, other games on the downloadable market is doing this, least of all anyone stupid enough to try it on Wiiware of all things, and if it's anything like the abysmally short, repetitive loops that Sonic 4 uses I can't really imagine the OST really being that much of a problem as long as they're using MP3/OGG compression.

It's more likely that the Wiiware logo got left out of the teaser. I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time it's happened on a multiplat release, either.

It usually happens when they decide to add it in later, like with Retro City Rampage.

Remember now, Sonic Generations wasn't confirmed for the PC until nearly a month before its release.

And yet, looks like Steam might be getting both.

Too bad Ep. 1 sucked.

Generations doesn't though! Picked it up during a Steam sale, runs surprisingly competently on this piece of shit when the graphic settings are gimped to hell. And it doesn't suck!
A desolate place, without any trace
It's only the cold wind I feel
It's me that I spite, as I stand up and fight
The only thing I know for real
There will be bloodshed!

You know what really pisses me off? The WiiWare version of Episode 1 was the definitive version, so much that it was supposed to have minecar levels that worked through tilting the Wiimote. But then the other bastards cried and they removed it. Now we're not even getting the game at all, fuck that noise.

Oh come off it. If you'd actually seen the minecart level you'd probably realize it was removed because it was absolutely bloody horrible and no amount of motion tech would've made it the slightest bit better (it actually would've made it worse, if anything). The level design and very concept of it was bland and completely nonsensical even by Sonic 4 standards, and that's saying a lot.

It's also kinda lol to suggest that the Wii version was the definitive version, considering how much content they had to butcher even to fit the damn thing on Wiiware. If I had a choice between the vanilla HD versions of the game or a watered down port with lower resolution, MIDI music and a boring, gimmicky minecart stage, I know which one I'd choose. I can understand people not getting the game for perhaps their only console in the grand scheme of things, but strawmen like this just makes you guys look bad.
