Heard this at Kotaku

« Toot-toot Sonic Warrior » is missing its lyrics nevertheless. I'll quote Sonic Retro on this :
" This is less blatant neglect and more a factor beyond SEGA’s control, though; while they own full rights to the backing tracks for the music, the lyrics belonged to Casey Rankin, who unfortunately passed away in 2009. This left the rights to use the lyrics outside of a standalone album release in total limbo, an issue that couldn’t be resolved before the slated release of the game.

But wait... wasn't "sonic boom" in Generations?

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

Here you go.
Yeah see? If they did it here, how could it be so hard to use it for the original game?

I think it was a lapse in judgement on their part. They wanted to spice up the re-release for some goddamn reason so they replaced Sonic Boom.

It's me that I spite, as I stand up and fight
The only thing I know for real

I think the end video got fudged up too, the video looks like it's playing slower with some slightly noticeable ghosting effect. The music doesn't start playing right away, they added in some sound effects for the rubble, and then it starts an instrumental song for the ending....

Well they may have fucked up the intro and out-tro... but besides that it's still the same game. A lot shorter than I remember it being.

To be fair, a widescreen capable Sonic CD can go ahead and have derpy cutscenes and shit, just as long as the core's intact.

The loss of Sonic Boom is criminal though.

Just criminal.

Oh boy. Episode 2 is going to have the same physics apparently... joy.
Come on Sega... this is why people bitch at you when it comes to Sonic. You SAY you're listening, but then you're not.

ahahahahahaha no. TSSZ is not a fucking news source. Tristan is the kind of person who will take rumours and speculation as fact without checking his sources in any way, and it has shown pretty bloody well too - who could forget the story in which TSSZ reported that Elise's model from '06 had fully rendered tits under her dress not visible during gameplay (which was blatantly false - the dumb fuck didn't realize it was a Garry's Mod model even with the signature scenery present) and somehow managed to pan it out for another 2-3 seperate articles before finally admitting that he'd fucked up? Or the time he made up a story about Sonic Retro taking bribes to ban forum members with his only source being an IRC chatlog that was later proven to be a complete joke? It's gotten so bad that TSSZ even has its own Encyclopedia Dramatica page, for fuck's sake (not that I'll link it, considering it's obviously NSFW).

Sorry, but I refuse to believe anything that comes out of Tristan fucking Oliver's mouth, because he has about the same credibility as a news source as Fox News does, with all the biased agendas to boot, and is largely regarded as an absolute joke in every Sonic community I still visit. I'll believe Sonic 4's physics aren't fixed when I see it.

Hmm... didn't know that about them. Well either way it's just labeled as a rumor for now.
(Some) Sites can make mistakes and can grow/learn from the mistakes, so to me it would matter depend how long ago all that happened.

edit: lol

Well, S4 Ep2 has officially been announced.

Protip, Sega. If you're gonna make a teaser trailer, don't do so to unsubtly point out the two things people already knew were going to happen the second the first episode was released. There is so much wrong with this approach to marketing it's not even fucking funny.

On the plus side, it was revealed during an interview with Ken Balough that the second episode will have brand new physics and graphics engines... which really begs the question of why the fuck none of that was mentioned in the trailer considering the infamy those two things brought for S4 in the first episode.

Nothing wrong with being a little unsubtle, if anything this was both unsubtle and subtle in its own way. They probably wouldn't want to mention the new physics in the trailer because... well that would be admitting that they failed on the first and that right there isn't very good marketing.

Honestly this sounds great. But still the only problem I have now with episode 4 other than the first being fucked up is the story arch... there isn't one... it's like playing through Generations more than making anything new.

I kind of figured it happened somewhere between Sonic 3 and Sonic Adventure.
