Heh, I was working at Walmart today so I couldn't see it; all preparing for our early Black Friday (or Thursday in this instance) specials. It became a madhouse at 9 PM. |

I'm starting to realize even more why Mario has a bigger fanbase. Mario's more recent game's levels don't make you want to tear your hair out from your head on these harder levels as much. I mean the placement of enemies and distance of platforms, along with missing the expected time of arrival is almost like a big middle finger to the player, especially when it's a race. My 4 year old cousin was literally crying because the 2nd level was to hard for him, while Mario he has less a problem with. Meanwhile, very stage after City Escape on classic Sonic has me pulling my hair out, at least on some of those missions. Edited by Havoc the Tenrec, Nov 25 2011, 10:57 AM.

Sonic can't really be as forgiving as Mario considering Mario is more exploration based while Sonic focusses on reaching the goal as fast as possible. You won't have as much room to move around and Sonic's arsenal of abilities focus more on moving forward as opposed to bypassing obstacles and exploring your surroundings. Mario's fanbase is bigger because the game is tailor made for people of all ages, as well as gamers of varied experience, where as Sonic's fanbase is largely people who grew up with him in the 90's where the games are geared more towards gamers with honed reflexes and better hand-eye coordination. Man, I really wanna go see one of those parades live someday, it looks like a lot of fun. :D |

Sonic is supposed to tailor to kids... well by their poor acting and terribly written kids stories they at least appear to be... While the older fanbase just wants everything to feel more serious. I mean even when you're just exploring on a mission stage, it can be pretty unforgiving. It's usually more forgiving when it's in the 3D perspective, but the later levels when in Classic 2d or Modern 2D, it can get really rough. Or maybe I just suck, lol. Also, from the sound of it in some article I can't seem to find again... it sounded like Sega may want to take the Sonic franchise in another new direction now. They could be talking about the Wii U - Sonic Dimensions rumor or something else. Edited by Havoc the Tenrec, Nov 25 2011, 11:49 AM.

Not really, it's just that people have a massive tendency to misconstrue everything Iizuka says, the media inclusive. It's more likely they'll just keep up the same approach they've got going with the current main series and just shell out more of the wierd cross-genre spinoffs we had going pre-06. You know, stuff like Riders and Battle and the storybook games. Incidentally, it would be an absolute sin if that didn't result in a proper Sonic fighting game somewhere down the line - or better still, an All Stars title, if only just because they'd have a much better excuse to fork out Segata Sanshiro like they wanted to for All Stars Racing. Also, as retardedly unpredictable as Sonic Team is, my mind refuses to put even the slightest ounce of trust in the baseless, unfounded, mindless tripe that is the Dimensions rumour that's been passed around lately. If these guys were fanbase-savvy enough to acknowledge the blatantly nostalgia-blind masses that are the "Classic" fans, there isn't a damned chance in hell they should be so oblivious to the fact that recolours are an almost unanimously despised concept in and out of the fandom, and the fact that they've been making gimmicks for Sonic that sidestep the usage of multiple playable characters in the most un-subtle manner possible, that they would continue to make a game that is practically guaranteed to garner widespread hatred before even an inkling of gameplay is shown. Even for Sonic Team standards that doesn't make a fucking lick of sense. |

It would have to be called Fighter's Megamix 2, which would be the best thing ever, with the VR Fighter's gameplay cut out of it of course. Also, I heard people really liked colors. Edited by Havoc the Tenrec, Nov 25 2011, 04:27 PM.

The later levels in Sonic Generations do require more aptitude, but once you get the hang of them after a few playthroughs (play the Ranked Xbox Live matches, you have infinite lives to practice with), they're not so bad. Planet Wisp however proves VERY unforgiving. Did Eggman really need THAT many rocket launchers in the walls? |

It's a shame Planet Wisp was a plain in the ass, because the beginning of the stage is too beautiful not to play. |

So I've been taking my 3DS on the fly so I can get PlayCoins to unlock the rest of the missions in the 3DS version. Each one is pretty expensive though, 5 coins each, and an additional 5 to "cheat to beat" them if you so desire. That's 500 steps per mission. Not so bad if you could get more than 10 PlayCoins per day. -_- |

Coins you recive from walking around with the 3DS in standby mode. Like a pedometer, but the coins can be redeemed in a number of games, though I think the only examples are both StreetPass Plaza minigames and Generations. You get one for every ten steps, so a total of 100 steps gets you the max number of coins for a single day, being ten, as Arem said. The total max you can earn before it stops is 300, which is how many I have currently. |

So you can only get ten a day? Weak, I was thinking of using the treadmill since I already walk on that for an hour each day. D: |

Yeah, I get my coins from walking from work to the local GameStop to StreetPass with the cool people there. |
