I had no idea the PC version was already out... so I downloaded the game. Hey, I already bought the console version and it isn't here yet, so whatever... I'm still supporting Sega.
I'm half way through... and wtf the Modern gameplay can be completely unforgiving.

I don't see where you're coming from there, Havoc. Now, in Planet Wisp, yeah it's unforgiving there.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.
But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.
game - gun = gay game + gun = -gay game + gun + Arem = ???
What I meant was the last level was annoying as hell; didn't have a problem with the others.

EDIT: Oh god, the last boss is a fucking pain in the ass.
Spoiler: click to toggle
Uh YES YES and YES. Not being able to see ANY rings... never getting hit (unless you count ring depletion) and hardly getting the chance to hit in an uninspired last fight is pretty weak, as well as a pain in the ass.
If you could close in properly, and not get this same-speed shit it always pulled, it would have been so much better.
I had to strategize to get there, like hang back and see the rings then work my way forward.

That's what I've been trying, and I hardly see what good using another Sonic as a weapon is really doing here when the trick is just to get close up... Man I remember when Sonic boss battles were both challenging AND fun. Jesus fucking Christ, lol
Edit:

lol... what the happened to 1 ring a second? Just try using Super Sonic in a regular level (modern, classic seems untouched), 20 rings in 1 second depending how you use him. In classic mode, super doesn't really do anything at all
Checked out that supposed secret trophy area, nothing special about it really, you get a better look at things with the character viewer upstairs.
The other Sonic is supposed to act as your own personal bulldozer for the space debris that drifts by. It helps some, but it is a bit annoying.
As for Super Sonic, the aerial boost is what causes the rings to drain so fast. If you boost in the air, Sonic stays in the air and takes out all those rings.

First, the red star things, get them when you can if you want more skills. I feel you should now that NOW instead of realising that after finishing the story >>.
Second, as Havoc said awhile back, that truck really is a persistent fucker this time around. I don't really know which Act it's more of a bitch in either.
Spoiler: click to toggle
Despite, you know, the saws and ability to fly in the second act. Pretty fucking cool though.
Have to agree with any Final boss hate. I was pretty psyched for double Super Sonic only to find that it didn't really mean anything. Hell, I would have prefered one Sonic at a time if it meant they actually worked on it a bit more. Oh no, debris... How dangerous. Oh wait, it just slows me down even though it doesn't feel like it anyway. Oh no, slow homing missles that never hit me. Oh no, a "time break" that slows things down. For the boss as well. What the fuck? The hell is the point of that power for the boss? The only real danger in the entire boss fight is not being able to see the damn rings like you guys said. I did what Arem did, just hang back, stock up on heaps of rings and then did a (what felt like a) psuedo-boost to catch up and win.
Also, challenge stages aren't bad except why does every level with a friend start with a cool idea and end up incredibly broken by the time you get to the goal? I always start the levels thinking "Oh, that's cool. Maybe this one won't su- Oh. Fucking hell." I also tend to come across quite a few more bugs in the challenges. Thankfully I'm not caring about getting S on the pirated version I have. Don't know how I'm going to cope with my legit copy though =/.
The most trouble I had in the game was the second last boss... I couldn't tell when Sonic was going to change angle and sometimes teh camera didn't react properly. Might just be because my Mac is rather underqualified to run this game though :P.
Good Game
Hex: Yes, you've read the book, you've seen the film - now avoid the game like the plague lest your memory of Harry Potter's epic conclusion be tainted by what can only be described as a short, half-arsed cover-shooter that's boring beyond belief.

I don't think I've ever said anything about the truck, but yeah he's definitely more badass now.
Yeah the Eggdragoon thing? When the camera changes in the middle of his "prepare to be skquered (don't know how to spell or autocorrect it) move, it leaves you defenseless and open for the attack no matter what, and you're dead... if you don't have a ring. It took me awhile to figure out you had to also hit him on the rails... and then realize that you had to really speed up on them. Seeing a red and black ramp in boss battle that consist of an abundance or the color red isn't as easy as you would think.
I'm in the mood to make some nitpicks and a few praises, so here I go.
--------------
Vector's level, is a retarded nightmare that I skipped after trying for the 100th time. It wouldn't be so bad if random structures didn't obstruct your view when hitting the notes. Besides that, homing doesn't always seem to do the trick when you want it to.
Well the dialog is unbearably cringe worthy as always, didn't expect that to change. For a game that tends to "act" kiddy-ish, it sure doesn't play child friendly.
The story is pretty bland, even for a Sonic game. I was expecting more dialog... but then again, do we really need to hear them talk even more? Let's ask Classic Sonic.
Shadow's voice, although you rarely hear it... is atrocious. It sounds no where near right. I pretty much dropped my jaw when I heard him.
I still expected more from Perfect Chaos's model. Seriously all they had to do was NOT add in all the random green glowing crap, and somewhat base it off of the cgi one from Sonic Adventure. I liked it's water arms that popped out at you though. The boss itself is even easier than the original.
Metal Sonic's model is SPOT on. But I guess I expected a little more from that battle. I remember actually racing him, not just avoiding him most of the time.
On the plus side... If they made Sonic 4 like this, I would've been much more pleased with that title. Not sure why they thought borrowing its Super Sonic theme was a good idea though.
Classic Tail's Model is awesome, just looking at the classic versions of them makes me so happy... They really should've included a classic model for Knuckles. I also really like how they poke fun at the franchise or other characters in its own way.
Being able to change the song on the stage = WIN. Though, it's not like you can't do that with the system itself, but still.
I tried the pinball Casino level on the PC, it's nothing all that special.
Yeah, the GUN truck is one persistent son of a bitch. Can't imagine why that is a spoiler since it was shown at E3. I find it more persistent in Act 1 since it follows you through the entire act. In Act 2, all you really have to do is hold down the boost and side step when you see it get too close.
Also, of any skill you should get first, find the Thunder Shield challenge that will unlock it for you. That will help you get some rather aggravating Red Star Rings. A lot of the Act 1 Red Star Rings I've gotten were using Thunder Shield double jump.

That's strange, that time break never slowed down the boss for me. In fact, it took full advantage of that time break and sent those homing missiles in multiple packs. Must be because you used a pirated version.

The GUN truck in City Escape in Act 2 is completely ridiculous; I can't stop begging giggling fits at it.
