Allow me to be a cheeky bastard, because apparently ToyRus is so awesome that their standard shipping actually means Nov 1.
:D

Edit: looks like they emailed the updated estimate time... It's now between 11/03/11 and 11/07/11
Bastards should've been more honest when the confirmation was sent.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

Took some photos of the CE box when I lugged it home earlier today. The game itself is fucking epic.

Also, for some reason, the cutscenes occasionally don't render properly and end up blurry as fuck. Most notably the very first cutscene D:

You saw blur? I saw pixels.

The game's length is a bit disappointing...considering this was the fastest I've ever beat a Sonic game (7 hours). Sonic Unleashed takes me more than that. Still, the levels are amazing. However, the last few levels sometimes get unbearably cheap; not in death falls, but attacks from enemies. Rooftop Run also took a few lessons from the Antichrist of an extra level from Unleashed, known as Rooftop Run Act 2. Yes, there are parts of the Rooftop Run Generations level that emulate that hellspawn. Planet Wisp is the level I hate the most. Not only is it obnoxiously long, but it's got unseen instant death traps right at the end. You can hear the goal ring chime, then the ceiling comes down to squish you flat. Crisis City was rather annoying, but damn I wish they used THAT design than the one from the original game. Beating the Iblis baddies was interesting too. Sadly, no run FROM the tornado...but towards it. What the fuck?

Some of the challenge acts are really fun, but others are annoying as hell. [glares at the one-ring challenge in modern Chemical Plant] Also, I really don't care for the fact that the elemental shields aren't actually boxes you can open in the level, but are unlocked for equip-able upgrades, a la the skill rings in Sonic and the Secret Rings. The sad thing is, when you lose that shield in the game, it's gone for good until you beat the level. I really could have used the Aqua Shield in Seaside Hill, and I would have been just fine if it wasn't for hidden spikes that no one can see until you land on them.

Otherwise, the game is amazing. Chemical Plant and Speed Highway are the best in my opinion. Sky Sanctuary is still a bit scary. ~_~

There's a lot to gather from the way things are done in Generations. The two most notable features are that of the Skill System from Secret Rings and the Red Star Rings from Colours. The skills you can purchase and equip to the five different skill sets are completely optional and not actually necessary to complete the game, as those particular skills, like the Stomp and Wall Jump abilities are available from the get go. Also worth noting is the Instant Deceleration from S4E1. Whether you prefer it or not is up to you.

For the Red Star Rings, they have a much more enjoyable usage in Generations, as opposed to Colours. Rather than being mostly useless, save for when they unlocked the Sonic Simulator levels, which went towards unlocking Super Sonic; for each Red Star Ring you collect, you'll unlock either a piece of artwork, or a song from previous games, of which I believe are unremixed versions. Fun thing to note is that you can select one of these unlocked tracks to play during a stage, replacing the default stage music. Like listening to Sonic Boom while going through Seaside Hill, or some shit.

True that. I wasn't motivated to find the Red Star Rings in Colors because it just wasn't worth my time, regardless of Super Sonic. I feel motivated to get the ones in Generations though, particularly to view the old concept artwork from previous games. Not all the music tracks are the original versions of the tracks, but a lot of them are.

Get your hands on a PC version, Psycho, or get someone to get a 360 version for however you get access to a 360. You will not be disappointed, particularly in Chemical Plant.

Fenix bought it for the PS3 today (err, yesterday technically), so there is that. My PC is an old jalopy, there's no way it can run any game made after 2007, if I'm lucky. Guess I'll have to wait until I GTFO and get a new PC or something. I'm still holding out for a potential Wii U release...please? ;-;

Here you go Psycho.

I didn't hear them all, but I did check out the "Follow me" versions.
How the hell did the classic version get a better song than modern? Modern's sounds so... downplayed.

Secret. Secret. Secret. Sonic's got a secret.
But it's not the saaaaaaaaame. But yeah, maybe, we'll see. On those codes, are they actually hidden somewhere in the game, or are they promotional or something?

So they're either promo codes or someone haxxed the game? It'd be interesting to know where they actually came from.
