Once you have a SOLID game that involves only those 3 characters, than you can diversify the game franchise. People have to be able to attach and endear themselves to their heroes. They do not endear themselves to gigantic clustering’s of personalities thrown on the screen. Just look at the reason for rebooting the spiderman movie franchise, too many characters, villains, heroes, all on the screen.

Sonic Colours. Hell, if "reestablishing the main players" is such a concern, everything since '06 still counts. Character clutter has never, never been an issue, and people keep saying this as a scapegoat completely oblivious to the genre roulettes that made them all fall apart in the first place. It's astounding that people still have the nerve to think this way when not only should additional characters really be a good thing in its own right, the exact fucking opposite has been happening since '06 bombed and people don't even realize it? The fuck is wrong with these people?

There are so many possible replies to this statement that I can't possibly just stick with one, so here, pick your own.
- IT'S. ONE. FUCKING. CHARACTER.
- Which mythos? The irrelevant American storyline that was almost entirely retconned after the Genny era? The Adventure arc, of which was the only one that had any actual continuity and by the way, was kickstarted by Shadow himself? Or is it something else that only stands up on a by-game basis just like the near entirety of the franchise? Get over yourself.
- The ironic thing is that the fanboy in question is probably a big fan of SA2.
- You know you're not going to follow through with a boycott, even if you fucking idiots actually knew how.
- Try telling that to the folks who've been satisfied since Unleashed and Colours, and you'll get laughed out for it. I know I was laughing pretty hard when I read this one.

This is both hilarious and incredibly fucking sad at the same time. I know most of these same people were hyped as fuck before, and now every bit of good is for naught because of a single character addition? Who isn't even playable? Who probably only shows up for 5-10 minutes, if even that? Amazing. I'm just astounded that people are complaining about this, and yet somehow gave Crisis City a free pass which by all the same logic has even less right to be here than Shadow does. You guys and your silly double standards.

All that aside though, they do have a point on one thing. We heard anything about some Nack or classic Knux representation yet? I mean, I'd really much prefer more Eggman fights over character VS brawls, but surely they've found room to put something in.
