 What was so bad about Sonic 4? I missed out because the Wii got shafted of episode 2, but it seemed alright from what I recall.

 Sonic 4: part 2 wasn't as bad as the first. I've always wanted an online function in a Sonic game.
But yeah the music was hilariously bad.

 Honestly, I have no idea what Sonic Team was trying to accomplish with Sonic 4 aside from embarrass themselves.

First episode was a rehash, second episode was average at best and still drew at least some from past material, and overall aside from it having lackluster music (which is scary because even the worst official Sonic games had at least a couple good pieces), and equally meh controls, it just didn't have anything resembling an identity of its own. The only thing I regret about Sonic 4 Episode 3 never being made is that it's likely we would have gotten a true 3D Get Blue Spheres.

So it turns out Sonic "06 by any other name" Boom actually got a patch.

Most of the fixes as far as anyone can tell are exploits, most notably Knux's infinite jump which was arguably the only reason anyone even played the game anymore.

 I tried the demo while ago, it wasn't as bad as it sounded. Nothing special though. The cut-scenes online were alright in a way, just sort of watched them all the way through on youtube. I will say that I like the model for Metal Sonic, it still has that retro feel.
