First of all, MS talked in Sonic Heroes. It was mostly for exposition purposes, but it's already happened before, so it's not like it would be as bad as if the had made Classic Sonic talk in Generations. BUT! If the way he talks is Eggman speaking through a radio or something, with MS reacts sarcastically to his speech, like rolling his eyes or looking bored simply because all he wants to do is, y'know, murder Sonic...I think I'd be pretty okay with that. Am I the only one who actually doesn't like the Metal Sonic and Shadow designs BECAUSE they look too similar to the originals? I know, that's weird for me to say but hear me out: They made sure at first to hammer us down that this is a completely new and different thing and now they are giving us more of what we were pretty much used to. If Metal sonic and Shadow get to stay the same WHAT WAS THE POINT OF REDESIGNING EVERYBODY ELSE TO BEGIN WITH? If your point is to give us a completely different universe then go right ahead, but don't do it halfway; You should stick to your concept and go full with it. |

I have to agree; I wasn't even expecting characters like Shadow and Metal Sonic to show up but, now that they have, I'm a little disappointed by how they hadn't been redesigned at all. |

Well, they're still works in progress. Things might change until we finally see the last designs in the media itself. That being said, the thing I'm most concerned about is Shadow's portrayal. That actual pose they have him in isn't very Shadow-like, and it makes him look more cocky, something atypical of Shadow. |

What bothers me the most is backstory for shadow. The more characters you add from the main series, the more "wtf how does this fit in" comes into question. Anything other than Shadow's current story would seem a bit weird to accept. But you want to know worries me even more? This game tanking with a Sonic 06 reputation... and the series having to follow based on a tanked game. And when both the game and the show tank, CN will have to either cut a second season (or rather 3rd, because I've seen them let bad shows last at least 2 seasons). This will hurt Sonic's media reputation more than anything else in the past has. Sega would get too cautious in changing anything else drastically in the future, resulting in more mediocre Sonic games through the years.

The show is actually surprisingly good from what I've heard. If there's anything about Boom that's going to tank near-'06 hard, it's the game. And while I'm practically expecting it to get a critical thrashing (and honestly it should, considering it's basically tie-in shovelware in Sonic form), it still remains to be seen whether BRB ends up taking the fall for it in the public eye instead of Sega, much like Bioware did for Chronicles. When it comes right down to it though, it just astounds me that Sega was planning this big brand relaunch for the better part of three years and not once did they ever consider whether it would fly well with anyone. It says a lot when the current designs are somehow an improvement over the original drafts. |

How is this news? We've known that Boom uses CryEngine basically ever since the game was announced. Hell, some people on SSMB figured that out before it was announced. Most people just haven't come to terms with CryEgine actually being complete shit for anything other than benchmarking because it's so horribly fucking unoptimized. Either way I'm almost certaintly not going to be buying this with my own money if I get it at all - which I think is saying something considering I didn't even skip on Black Knight and '06, despite their reportoire. |
