Yeah, fuck this game. In other news, early concept art by DiC was discovered for the SatAM show... and goddamn it is an absolute dose of WTF. Literally nobody even resembles anything that could've come from the games. Spoiler: click to toggle

Really don't see a problem with the dialogue; it's based off of a kids show, it's meant to be corny, upbeat and a little obnoxious. Plus it's Sonic so it's going to be doubly, so. I'm really loving the environments and overall feel to the game, it's got a very Jak & Daxter/Ratchet & Clankness to it. The animation on those in-game cutscenes is pretty awesome, especially characters' facial expressions. I'm really disappointed that all four characters seem to play identically and none of them seem to have any specific special abilities unique to them. Seems like such a massive waste. |

*high fives* Also, Eddie Lebron was a fan of Sonic, and his movie kinda sucked. Is anyone legit taking any prospect of an actually decent Sonic movie seriously? Why do people even WANT a Sonic movie, how much more could it possibly add to the franchise that decades worth of comic books, television shows and videogames haven't already done so? |

For one:![]() For two, corny though it is: ![]() For three, most people actually after a Sonic film are asking under the assumption that Sega hires someone that actually knows what the fuck they're doing and can be reasonably faithful to the source material, which for an adaptation shouldn't fucking be asking all that much but apparently "faithful" doesn't enter into the equation anymore once AAA budgets become a thing. |

I actually like it when they occasionally aren't completely faithful to something, particularly when it comes to things that have had major flaws and don't appeal to every generation. The exception being the Dragonball movie. I think I'm one of the few that think the new TMNT movie actually seems bad ass. The first live action tmnt movie I think was the best because it was both faithful while still feeling dark enough to not annoy the fuck out of you with too many random "cowabungas" and whatnot. |

You're...kinda proving my point in that any reason to have a feature length Sonic film has probably already been done, or needs to be in some kind of context.
Soooo...you're saying they'll screw it up anyway? |

How on earth is that supposed to be a point? If "because we've done it before" was ever a legitimate excuse we never would've seen a Sonic game past the Genesis original. I'm saying that they should hand it to someone who won't. "The guys that did the Smurfs movie" is not my definition of "someone who won't". |

No, I meant like they couldn't possibly bring anything new to the table with this movie and it'll never look as good as say, an animated feature, or another game. My point was, why a movie? Sonic isn't exactly a property Hollywood can really make bank off of, and, honestly, any attempts at CG will result in something hideous, unless Disney/Pixar/DreamWorks were involved and they did a full feature using nothing but CG, as opposed to CG with fucking humans, which is just going to look butt-ugly. We're just going to get another Smurfs, or Chipmunks and everyone will piss and moan about how Sonic is dead, all over again. |

You've played Unleashed, right? Seen all those fancy pre-rendered cutscenes? Just hire the guys that animated those. Problem fucking solved. The whole root of this problem isn't anything wrong with the concept, it's that Sega is seeking exactly the wrong kinds of people to see it all through. As opposed to people bitching about Sonic Boom instead? =V |

It doesn't embed, but if you copy/paste the url, it'll show you the title screen of Night of the Werehog. Anyway, regarding people bitching about Sonic Boom, I'm still not getting all the hate. |

Because in the exact same light as this: ![]() it is masquerading as an entry in a franchise it shares virtually nothing in common with. In fact if anything it has more in common with generic PS2 era licensed platformers than it does anything resembling a Sonic game. About the only thing they haven't done so far along those lines is openly mock people for having expectations as such... and well fuck, knowing how the writing is going I'm almost expecting them to at some point. |
