Oh okay then, guess I'll just go with that the next time then. I really thought there'd be more to these Wisp Powers than that, but from my experience with the DS version of Colours, it seems that there's a lot more style than substance to most of them. |

The "sparkly stuff" mostly just refers to the ability to walljump while climbing and wallrunning. It takes a little practice because it's not quite as clear about it as, say, the wall jump in Unleashed and Generations, but as long as you actually move the stick in the direction you're jumping it should generally work alright. One trick they don't tell you is that you can transition from a wall climb into a horizontal wall run in 3D sections by holding the stick sideways while climbing, then pressing jump. There isn't usually an explicit need to do this, but I'm pretty sure there's some place in Silent Forest or Frozen Factory where it's actually mandatory for progression, so it'd be a good idea to get some practice in while there's no pressure. |

I expected a sonic game to be worse. The cool thing is that it could really feel like your on an interactive rollercoaster this way.

First person? That's debatable - SRB2 pulls that shit off with flying colours. With Oculus? Yeah, that much I'll have to concede - it's the kind of game you really need a mouse to play. At best you can use Oculus to fine tune mouse movements like the WiiU's gyros are to the control sticks - but you just can't make a reliable control scheme off of headtracking alone. Either way it always feels a little uncanny whenever someone brings Sonic GDK up - Xaklse made it if I recall right, who was the guy who did the bulk of A:DR's programming, or at least the stuff that actually worked. I really should give it a whirl sometime. |

I still don't get the appeal of RB2; it's headache inducing and I can barely make any sense of it because of how hectic it is. Large expansive environments with teeny tiny characters, who thought that was a good idea? |

It was the early 2000s. It was SRB2, any twenty-dozen futile attempts at replicating Sonic gameplay in early Clickteam engines, or emulation. It hasn't aged too well, but for its time, it was like someone re-creating Phantasy Star IV in RPG Maker. X3 |
