If you see the words "re-imagined" and "new demographic" in the same article, it's either fake or it's going to be godawful.

Some consider Satam "re-imagined" and a "new demographic". Maybe not an entirely different demographic, but it did cover a broader range than what was intended. And we all know that one wasn't godawful.

Speak for yourself, I thought SatAM was a terrible show that couldn't decide if it wanted to be whimsical and carefree or epic and serious business. They delegated Tails to practical non-existance in favour of a group of glorified fan characters, who don't even aesthetically resemble any of the established characters' designs. Sonic spends more time being carefree and nonchalant as opposed to worrying about the real threat of global opression and trying to save the day. I even watched the Time Stones episodes to see the show at its "darkest" and, in all honesty, if the show had taken that tone (for the most part, there was still a lot of bullshit about Sonic not giving a shit until the last possible second) during its entirety and run with it, I may have held it in much high regard. While AoStH and Sonic Underground are by no means masterpieces of American animation and storytelling, at the very least, I can still find them entertaining to this day because they know what they are and don't attempt to be anything else to appeal to some kind of minority demographic (the former being more slapstick and akin to a Looney Tunes show and the latter having a nice balance of adventure, comedy and drama by enforcing the meaning of family bonds and friendship).

I saw Sonic Underground as a kiddy singalong half hour special with 3 Urkels, that was enough repellant for me.

The 3 Urkels were diverse enough to be interesting characters on their own. Honestly, Sonia is probably a thousand times more interesting than Sally Acorn, especially considering how much her character develops over the course of the series.

SATam isn't the end all be all Sonic Show....but it was better than X. What really ruined it is what Archie has been doing to the continuity.

I wish the nostalgia critic included Sonic Underground, so I had to find a different reviewer for comedy sake. It could've been worse, the show's art was nice, though it pretty much took satam's style, but not entirely. It's just the music and voices that made me go running, but maybe I'll watch the rest.

And just because he does well reviews I'll throw in part 2 of satam

Oh no, I completely agree, X is the bottom of the freaking barrel, about the only things they did right were like, the first 5 to 10 minutes of the first episode, which was what I wished the entire show was, and maybe having Live and Learn for the fight against the Bio Lizard (Japanese version only, because fuck 4Kids). I suppose the third season was pretty neat in concept and did feel more like how Sonic should be considering it wasn't about boring humans who whine all the time about stupid shit. The concepts for the Mettarex and Cosmos were really great, I wouldn't mind seeing a game revolve aroudn that.

In the end though, Sonic X was utter garbage, as was every anime based off of a videogame franchsie that came out at that time (Megaman NT Warrior, Kirby: Right Back At Ya and F-Zero), all of which, not surprisingly, were handled by 4Kids.

I'm pretty sure NT Warrior was a VIZ Media deal, mang. Not 4Kids.

Huh, coulda fooled me considering the blatant censorship. Oh well, I'll just leave this here:

I am saddened by the outcome, but it's the one that makes more sense. Bonus points for using Chemical Plant music.

I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

Wily vs. Eggman! Who wins?

Metal Sonic.

Though admittedly, that actually makes sense given how both those scientists work.

Pretty much. Throw Metal Sonic into the mix between those two and he'll usurp both of them given his flexible definition of loyalty.
