I think it's fair to let Sega have their moment of clarity and enjoy it for whatever it's worth, because it has borne the fruits of their labour and they've finally managed to reach a point where they, as well as the fanbase, are comfortable with where Sonic is right now. There's still no reason they can't port a few future titles over... unless it's too relying on the control scheme.

I'm not saying "no hyoomins", but it was a good set up and seemed to keep everything in check and in relation to the games.

Some of the guys at SSMB pointed out that the makers of this are also responsible for Xiaolin Chronicles... I wouldn't have any idea whether that's a good thing. The original voice cast are reprising their roles at least. Even Eddie Lebron hates it, which is ironic when you remember the fan film he's infamous for.
