Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Halo Ameliorated. For the passed few weeks, I have been working rather fervently on a complete reskin of Halo PC, and so far, it's been a blast to work on, especially when real progress has been made. Admittedly, I am nowhere near completion (I have only just finished reskinning the Pillar of Autumn and the Assault Rifle), but I feel that it's worthy of a WIP thread, so here it is. Below are some screenshots that show off some of the bitmaps I've created for the mod. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Comments and criticism appreciated, and by criticism, I mean the constructive sort. Any pointless spam or unexplained critique will be deleted. And yes, Metroid Elysium is on hiatus until this is complete. |

Those are on PC Halo: CE? Those look damn close to professional. Hell, if I need a graphics designer, I'll call on you. Actually, I could use a graphics designer real soon, that is if I can nab some programmers. Not like I can offer much in payment for services, at least not for a while. But hell, I've been looking for a team for a long while. Edit: A bit of constructive criticism. The textures could use some smoothing (I'm not sure what the technical terms are...I used to know them.) The edges are a bit jaggy, and it kind of reminds me of a Playstation/Jaguar game. Of course, that's probably because you aren't quite done yet. And, if you can, or if you're even focusing on it, the lighting could use being fixed. It's not very much at the moment other than bright/dark. |

I'm not sure what you mean Polter, I don't see any jaggies from the screenies that Ry put up. But I do agree on the lighting effects, they seem a bit off. Other than that, considering I haven't actually seen or played much of the original Halo, I'm not sure I can provide any valuable insight on the matter. D: |

Yes, this is all on Halo PC. As for the textures looking so jagged, it's probably because of the resolution. Things always look like that when playing on 640x480. I normally play on 800x600 at it looks a lot better. The lighting effects haven't been altered much from the originals, which is why they don't fit well. I'm going to go in and dim them a little, perhaps making them a little more orange. The flashlight stays the way it is, though. I'm also going to change the doors around. I'm thinking of making them black and gray as to fit with the rest of the bitmaps. It should look a lot better. |
