I've seen the previews, but they just don't reveal anything. Any speculation on what that thing could be?

Here is a link to IMDB. Cloverfield. IMDB has the latest trailer and more information about it.

I have done researching about Cloverfield before it was named and came up with some interesting results. Fake working titles for Cloverfield were Cheese, Clover, and Slusho. Working titles were Untitled J.J. Abrams Project and 1-18-08.

The name Slusho appears a lot when searching for Cloverfield. I Googled Slusho and came up with interesting results. Slusho is a fictional drink company in J.J. Abrams show, Alias. There is also a page for Slusho. Slusho!- You Can't Drink Just Six. It reveals that a whale tells a small fish to drink the ingredient in Slusho that comes from a very deep area of the ocean and the small fish grew into an enormous whale. We know from the trailers that some giant beast attacks New York City. This may have to deal with Slusho making a giant beast. from the ocean. The first thing that the unknown monster does is attack the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty is also on the ocean.

Hopefully, I have shed some light on the enigma known as Cloverfield.

Okay, I hope you're all ready for a read, because I've done a LOT of research on this movie.

The basic plot right now centers around a guy named Rob who was supposed to leave from his New York home for a life in Japan. During the night of his farewell party, the city is rocked by a giant monster the likes of which have not been seen in America. The story is about him and his few friends that survive trying to... well.... survive.

This movie is a big deal because America has never had it's own monster. We always borrow Godzilla or some other giant beast of out-of-country origins, including mythical beasts.

And there is more to it than just what you posted about Slusho!, TFKS. There are several sites involved with the story behind this, and for your geeky delight, I will post them.

When I get back tonight. <.<

But there's a lot of research to be done about the movie. One of the biggest names is "Tagruato Corp.". I can at least post that site up for you.

http://www.tagruato.jp/index2.php

Enjoy for now. I'll be back with more later.

I think it's safe to say that Slusho! may have created the monster that is terrorizing New York. Also, On IMDB, I saw a forum thread that said the monster was a giant turtle. I do not have access to the stupid forum because you have to become a member to do so. I really wanted to know, so I signed up and I'll let you guys know when I get a chance to look again! I don't know how credible the former statement is so like I said, I'll check it out.

The movie, I'm guessing, is to be released in 1-18-08. If that is true, why so much secrecy?

What if it was really just a nightmare the Care Bears had when they ate some bad rainbow? Would you like to see it then?

The producer, J.J. Abrahms, is known for having a certain amount of audience involvement in his works. He's the driving force behind Lost and Alias, so he has some experience with it, and I don't think it's really going to turn out that bad.

As to the giant turtle theory, the more probable outcome is that it is a mutated whale, as there have been several hints among the other viral sites.

Now, like I said earlier, here are the other sites:

http://cloverfieldclues.blogspot.com/ Probably the biggest help in finding out anything you want to know about the project. Lots of links, lots of info.

http://www.jamieandteddy.com/ This is a site that has videos from one of the characters addressed to her boyfriend. Things get a little strange in the last few videos. The password for the site is "jllovesth".

http://tidowave.com/ A site from a group of Neo-terrorists that have some interesting information regarding the Tagruato Corporation. You really have to read everything hear to understand it all.

Happy hunting! :D

Firstly, never take IMDB as a reliable source of information. They have a tendancy to make stuff up and coming up with their own theories.

Second, Aku wasn't King Kong a US based monster?

Third, although J.J. Abrahms isn't one of my favourite people (because I dislike Lost and Alias very much), this movie shows a lot of promise. Oh and that trailer you mentioned Aku, I've actually SEEN it! :D
