I'm one level away from completing the game on Heroic, and I already decided to give a huge "fuck you" to the Legendary-solo Achievement. I'll get Heroic solo, and Legendary on Co-op with friends. I will not suffer my already mis-wired brain to such a fuckfest. If I did, I might have a seizure from the sheer stress of its shit. Hell, I tried Legendary to get the "Tank Beats Everything" Achievement. My god, that scared me away from doing it solo. I did get the Achievement, but quit right there and then. Although, I may try to get Halo 3 on Legendary. Only need four more levels to get the Legendary Achievement for that (thankfully, I don't have to do Cortana on Legendary since it's already done DX). Legendary on Halo 3 is only a little harder then the Heroic on Reach. So...maybe. So yeah, only got "Pillar of Autumn" left to do on Heroic. After having incredible luck on "The Package," I hope the same stays that way for the last level. I need it. Hunters, another Firefight-style stand-down, and then fighting my way through obnoxious Zealot-class Elites to reach the gun. DX Oh well, I'm almost a Major now, although Mech is already reaching for Lieutenant Colonel, so to speak. EDIT: Fuck yeah, bitches! Heroic run is in the bag! |

I think Boardwalk is now my favorite messing around map, because no one ever checks if you're hiding int he trees. Fall colors plus Red Team equals good fun popping out for assassinations. |

Psycho, no offense, but according to your Achievement card, you did not beat Legendary solo, only co-op. Get back to me when you do and see if you'll say the same thing. And I actually disagree with you as I have an easier time with Legendary on Halo 3 then I have with Reach. Talking to other Halo players I'm friends with, they more or less agree. You're the only one who has said it was easy, and I've talked to several others, and they say different. Who am I supposed to believe in that scenario, Psycho honestly? Co-op, especially with great friends to play with changes Legendary big time. I even acknowledged this. In Halo 3, I beat Cortana on Legendary with two other people. Alone, it was a complete butt-rape, but with good friends, it was a lot easier and fun, especially when we had a strategy. I would hang back and provide fire support with long-range weaponry, while the other two would invade and take a lot of enemies with them. I would hang back so my friends would respawn. |

No see, I played it co-op, but I could tell it was pretty damn easy. It's just the standard fare of holding back and shooting down any potentially threatening opposition ahead. Hey, you know that disco level you guys are all bitching about? It really WAS the easiest and most fun part of the game, and for the record, I ploughed through all the Hunters all by myself, with mostly melees. But I'm talking to someone who thinks going by my Achievement card is a significant indication of my skills as a gamer. Then again, you are the guy who started the game on Kid Mode as opposed to Legendary. All it takes is some patience and some decent knowledge of the level layout and you're all set. There is absolutely no phenomenal skill required to beat this game on it's so called hardest difficulty. |

Throw me some cue-tips, but I think I just heard you say that you just insulted my way of adapting to a game to get practice for the harder difficulty settings. Well, excuse me for not wanting to throw myself into the fire immediately, Psycho. I prefer to adapt at MY own pace, not yours. And you talking about your skills doesn't mean diddly-squat to me unless I see them myself. Anyone can talk about their skills, but if they don't show it, it's just hot air. Since I cannot check out your skills, obviously I have to go with another way of seeing just what you did on a game for any indicator on what you did. Obviously that too has limitations, of which I'm all too aware of. Yes, I'm a doubter. Always have been. Have fun with your games on Reach. Obviously my "skills" are too meek for you to play with. I'll find someone else to play Reach or any other game with. |

Yeah see, I only made the same assumptions you did, because I don't think it's fair questioning my gaming skills, probably one of the few things I actually take pride in, by making a bold faced statement that I'm full of hot air because I don't have some crummy achievement. What, you can dish it out but can't take it? I'm sorry man, but those are some screwed up double standards. So you know what, I'm sorry I can't show you my shiney "A Monument to All Your Sins", and I probably never will considering I don't own a 360, nor do I ever plan to. If I ever did get the achievement, it'd only be because Fenix took the time out of his life to get it for me. But when I have a non-gamer/casual gamer friend who HAS gotten said Achievement, and having played the game myself and knowing the full extent of the enemy's AI and it's difficulty curve, then I believe I am in full right to claim that this game's hardest difficulty is by no means "hard", not in comparisson to Megaman Zero, or Gunstar Heroes, or Zelda 2, or Super Mario Bros., or Contra, or Castlevania 3. So this isn't me insulting how you adapt to a game, this is me telling you that I find it hard to believe that someone with the gaming skills and experience YOU have (for crying out loud, you play Devil May Cry) finds a very shallow game like Halo Reach difficult at all. Take that how you will, chew it up, spit it back out, it really doesn't matter, I just can't understand how you really believe Halo Reach Legendary is difficult at all, especially comparatively to Halo 3. |

Did that person say himself that it was NOT hard? It's sounds more like he did his homework then it actually being "easy." Calculus is very difficult, but for someone who did his or her homework, it can be done. Does that make it any less difficult? Considering our arguments over Devil May Cry, I don't think that's a good example to show my "skills" considering how I curse 2 for being too easy and boring, 3 being more difficult, and how I love 4 then any other of the titles. Since you see 3 and 4's Dante Must Die modes being in comparison "easy," my accomplishments in 4 shouldn't really impress you. Or for Bayonetta for that matter. Also, comparing them to games so old and so different seems more like you're trying to compare an apple to an orange. And yes, Reach's (or any other Bungie Halo game for that matter) difficulty curve IS considerably shallow, since all it really does is extremely weaken your health gauge and have a slightly bigger numbers of enemies in select areas. Yet, it certainly is effective. When they mean they punish every single mistake, they mean it. I played half of a level on Legendary (The Package) and oh my god, each enemy had some shared omniscience or something, because as soon as I poke my head out, they come clambering for the fatal shot. It took me thirty minutes to reach Sword Base gates, when in Heroic, it took me only ten. Reason is because I was exceedingly careful. However, that didn't stop my tank being one step short of utter destruction at the end...after five tries. I've been exposed to Legendary on Halo 3 AND Reach solo (didn't have the chance to try ODST's as my copy was stolen only two months after I got it), and I have to say that I found Halo 3's Legendary easier (although not by much) then Reach's. Don't really know why, although I wish I did. |
