I like it when people use the word "gay" in any context other than a homosexual one - it only proves that they have the maturity of a five year old, as if their obsession with shooters didn't already do a good job of pointing that out. It's also pretty amusing that he pointed out Skyrim considering the fact that, y'know, it's set in the bloody medival era and doesn't even have muskets, let alone generic modern firearms.

But just for fun, let's play around with his logic a bit.

game - gun = gay
game + gun = -gay
game + gun + Arem = ???

I mean, I love the shit out of Red and Blue, but they are glitchy and buggy and horribly anti-cosmetic for their time, but in Fire Red and Leaf Green, it was the SAME game with a paint job, and it did great. So, I always think it's a hit and miss.
Except Pokémon was a much simpler game on a handheld platform, but still, that got more than just a graphical overhaul. New animations were added, the art was updated, music was enhanced and new features included (choosing player gender, the Sevii islands, the ability to catch Gen II and III Pokémon, genders/natures/abilities, etc.). So, on top of the fact that it was a much simpler game, the remakes are just that, remakes, and added a lot more depth and complexity to the new games on top of the graphical upgrade. Halo Anniversary made no such attempt.

I understand what you mean by simpler game, but every fiber in my being is wanting to scream, "but Pokemon had WAAYYYYYY more math and dice rolling in the background". :)

It got more than a graphical overhaul, but this is also because of previous revisions of the franchise, such as moving to the Advanced brought about some/if not most of those innovations. Animations, updated art, and added statistical data such as natures and such still didn't subtract to the fact that I was still playing the original Red and Blue, but with a new coat of paint. Sure, I could play as a girl and I could have boy or girl Pokemon, but was that really THAT game changing? Not really.

Halo Anniversary did attempt to clean up the audio from the transition and years, much like the redo of musical tracks in FR/LG.

I thought it was an amazing feature to be able to switch between the new coat of paint and the old layers with just a press of a button. Let alone that you were really playing the "original" version of Halo, but you could switch to the new graphics. I wish more games did that actually. It would be amazing to see fat Pikachu lose all of his weight in the blink of an eye.

They did try to add Terminals, which gave further backstory and a sense of items to complete, similar to the Sevii Islands example.

They did add achievements, but I don't see much value in them, although I do enjoy getting them :)
(more possibly will be here))

It allowed you to breed Pokémon. That's as game changing as it could get.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that shit wasn't even on the fucking disc. You would find the Terminal by playing the game, but the content had be viewed through Halo Waypoint, which was fucking stupid.

I'm not sure. I think you could watch them again via Waypoint.

Also if they had "fixed" the overpowered magnum and some of the other imbalances, Halo fans would have blown a damn gasket, as those imbalances are what made H1 H1. Any further improvements and the graphical switch would have been a lot more of a bitch to pull off.

Was Anniversary the greatest thing ever? No, but it was also 20 dollars at launch. And it was worth 20 dollars.

Can 343 make a good Halo game? I believe they can gameplay wise, given what they did with H4, but they need to seriously stop trying to just please the fans and actually do something with the series and not make it more like CoD in multiplayer.

These two statements are contradictory; if they shouldn't listen to the fans, then they shouldn't have kept everything the same. Also, It's H1 Anniversary, not H1, it's supposed to be a fresh new take on something old to celebrate it. Like I said before, if people wanted H1, they can go back and play it, I'm sure it's readily available on multiple platforms for dirt cheap.

That's because Halo fans are usually a little derp. Remaking/celebrating H1? Keep as much the same as possible, as it was just meant to bring it to the 360, since otherwise it was only available on OG Xbox and the PC with little support left.

H4's fan pandering was them playing it way way too safe, almost pulling a H1A again, which would have been stupid, H4 was supposed to be a whole new game but it felt like they kept retconning back to something like H1, which is a giant step back.

The original Halo was one of the first games released on Games on Demand, it's been available on the 360 practically since launch. Otherwise, the PC and Mac ports of the game have a very active community to this day.

OG Xbox GoD no longer have access to live services while playing, which for me is no bueno, PC and Mac do but mainly for Custom Edition, and no previous version has the ability for Online Co-op in Campaign.

Something they easily could've done with a patch/update, instead of spending a ton of money on a "new" game. Also, Custom Edition is the definitive edition, so why bother with anything else?

Not so much in terms of the old Xbox title, also all Live services from the OG Xbox were killed years ago.

Yes, and I'm saying they could've patched the version avaialble on Games on Demand to work with the 360's Live services, it's not that complicated that they'd need to re-release the game to do it.

Actually it would have been a nightmare as H1 barely had any live connectivity in the first place (No online multiplayer without third party assistance) so not only would they have had to patch the game up to be compatible with the 360 Live Services, but they'd have to upgrade the whole game to add in Online Functionality. I'm sure they considered doing this but decided a budget game with a high gloss paint job would do the same thing. Remember the game was only 20-30 when it launched, and it included a code to add the Anniversary maps to Reach, which was about 10 bucks on it's own on the XBL store. Meaning you paid about 10-20 for multiplayer campaign with added features and better paint and online features.

Not the best deal on the planet but I don't feel cheated.
